PICTURE POST II!

And one more because Spike decided to actually be cute a few minutes ago:

My parents got one of those installed a couple years ago, mostly just to keep the sump pump running so that the basement doesn't flood.

I don't have one of those generators, but thankfully my area only very, very rarely experiences the kinds of severe weather-related problems where one of those becomes a necessity. When power goes down in these parts it tends more often than not to come back up in a matter of a few short hours.

Too true. I know all too well. I've just held off on getting one for various reasons, largely the prices at the times when the idea came up.

My wife sent me this picture of my daughter getting ready for her first real ballet class this afternoon.

Couple pics that I took outside today. I was freezing so I couldn't mess around with settings or lenses, unfortunately. :(

Beautiful pics! And the sky is so blue. Blue sky...I've pretty much forgotten what that looks like. *sob* Anyway, we're supposed to have a few hours' rest tomorrow morning from the rainstorms (though the entire weekend is a write-off once again), so I'm going to head to the river and the quayside to see how high the water level is now.

Nice and sharp pics, Kes. I'm not too familiar with Chicago's skyline but I know the skyscraper in the top image isn't the Willis (Sears) Tower. Do you know which building that is by any chance?

Thanks guys. It has been snowing so much that this was one of the few days I was able to get out there and take pics at all. Eddie, that's the Trump Tower and you're looking at it from the Chicago River. Well technically, I was on Lakeshore Drive over the Chicago River.

My son Ian declared this morning that it was Handsome Day and this is the outfit he put together. Some friends have called him the mini Doctor Who.

^ Very cool, think! :bolian: Is Steve wearing his Nixie tube watch?

yes he was.. :) cool, I noticed that when I was there too.. said something about owning company stock and such.. the watch was made with tubes.? -it was interesting to see. I had thought it was a little strange to have tubes on the wrist where they might .. pop or break.,,

There was a break from the wet and windy weather this morning, so I took the puppy for a walk. While walking along the river I heard this raven before I saw it. I was surprised to see it sitting on one of the lower branches overhanging the path.
