Wow! Great!

A couple pet pics:

Lily is nearing 15 years old, and her walks have needed to be shorter because her hips are not strong, but she does love being in the sun.

Hubby and I went for a nice long walk today. Here is some of what we saw:

Red baby dragonfly:

Blue baby dragonfly:

(the adults didn't stay still long enough to photograph!)

and finally:

What a great day!

Saw this at lunch yesterday at the country club I was at. A momma bear sleeping in a pine tree. What you can't see is the cub under her and the other one about 6 feet away.

That a black bear or a grizzly, hard to see with the obstructed view. I always go by the ears and the hump or lack thereof on the neck.

I've had a few chances to see bears in the wild, all but once from a comfortable distance. Awesome to see in person.

Black Bear. Adult Grizzlies don't climb trees

She's a black bear and we were probably closer than we should have been, especially with cubs in the tree with her.

Shandee, nice pics. When I first read your name, I thought you were Shameless McBundy . I'm like, ”I didn't realize Shameless got married. :D

^ Lovely photos, Shandee. I especially love the one with the squirrel. Were you able to get that close, or did you use a telephoto lens?

This was my first day playing with my new camera. Its just a point and shoot model, but I'm really pleased with the clarity of the photos!

@ Gryffindorian...thanks! its good to start my online morning with a giggle!

@ macloudt...thank you! I actually was able to get close to him, I think he is fairly used to people. He circled our bench several times while we ate some snacks. Hubby tossed him a nut from our trail mix and he was happy to pose for photos.

@ Alienesse...thanks! Your pics are great too. all of these recent nature photos have inspired me to walk/hike more (and to bring my camera when I do!)

Cheers!

My friend owns a bar in Brooklyn that's been slowly growing in fame among the geek crowd because it has a TARDIS in it! Last night I went to a Doctor Who premier party at my friend's bar, here are some of the pics:

For the occasion I made this skirt and top -- drying on the floor in this picture. The colors look a little off because my phone camera sucks:

It is bigger on the inside...it's the bathroom! Here is the inside (it has also been autographed inside by Matt Smith and Karen Gillan):
