hahahaha looks like i did a pretty good job skipping episodes that looked uninteresting when i watched this show back in may... i haven't watched any of these :P

I make Meridian into an A+++ episode every single time by literally fast-forwarding every scene that doesn't have Quark in it.

Therefore, because of this technique, I like Meridian most. :techman:

I would have to go with The Muse. I don't think it's as bad as most people seem to. While I didn't like Lwaxana Troi in TNG, I found her to be a sympathetic character in DS9. Plus, the plot with Jake was a good allegory on what people are willing to sacrifice for creative greatness.

Honestly, Profit and Lace is the only truly terrible episode on the list. I think it's the absolutely most offensive hour of all Star Trek. The sexism is appalling. (Mudd's Women is nearly as sexist, but when controlling for the time in which it was written, it's less bad simply because by the time DS9 came out, the writers should have known better.)

Move Along Home and The Emperor's New Cloak are silly little episodes that are poor but still watchable. Second Sight is okay. Not great, and not terrible. Let He Who Is Without Sin makes Worf look like a grumpy stick in the mud. Meridian's A-plot (Dax falls in lust and gets stupid) is unwatchable, but the B-plot (Odo and Kira conspire to fend off the holoprogram guy) is so funny that it makes up for it.

I voted for "Let He Who is Without Sin", which I never thought was bad, simply not executed in the manner it should have been. In fact, the only episodes on the list I really think are AWFUL and should be skipped when watching the series are "Meridian" (although as others have said the B-plot is fine) and *shudder* "Profit and Lace".

Really don't mind "The Muse", so it was an easy pick for me out of the available options.

Easy for me: "Move Along Home."

I think it helps that I first saw this episode when I was little, and the "game" idea, and the rather odd, fantastical world appealed to me. Even watching it now, I still get sentimental. :)

I don't think "The Emperor's New Cloak" is a bad episode at all. It's as good as, if not better than almost every other DS9 mirror universe episode, and has a fun ending. I wonder how much hate of this episode is due to the Garak bias here. As a character, he sucks in every mirror universe episode and this one was no exception. Worf acts like an idiot in it too, but other than that, I see very little wrong with the episode. Mirror Ezri was cool (this is the one time I thought Ezri was sexy...her status in the sexy character poll baffled me, because I always find her cute, but never thought she was attractive in a sexual way) and Rom brought some very enjoyable humour to his one mirror universe episode appearance too.

I wonder if part of that result was because 'cute' is obtainable.

I thought this would be a thread about the alcoholic drinks in Trek.
Anyway, Move Along Home wasn't completly awful. It had some funny stuff, as well as some good Quark moments. Second Sight, The Muse and Let He Who Is Without Sin were all intensly boring and stupid. Meridian's A plot was also intensly boring and stupid, but the B plot was rather fun, and contained one of the most disturbing scenes ever. The Emperor's New Cloak wasn't just stupid and insane, but it also raped the Mirror Universe. Prophit and Lace is really weird, and falls in the cathegory of "What were they smoking..." episodes, but it's also pretty funny, so it gets my vote.

I'm seriously not getting the hate for that mirror universe episode and would appreciate it if someone would explain to me why it bothers them so much.

oy vey, where's the *kill self* option? But...of these, "Move Along Home" is really goofy, but probably the least painful.

better than almost every other DS9 mirror universe episode

Pfffft, that's not really a high bar to cross, is it?

I went with "The Muse", because, unlike a lot of people (apparently) Lwaxana Troi didn't really bother me that much, and I liked her in this episode. I thought her scenes with Odo were actually rather endearing at times, and a welcome change from her constantly chasing after him. Odo, too, experienced a bit of growth during this installment. Plus, you can't go wrong with hiring Meg Foster to play the alien of the week.

I also don't mind "Move Along Home", for the most part. It's not great, of course, but the series was still trying to find its footing, and I don't find this to be significantly less impressive than a few of the other Season 1 offerings. I actually don't think Season 1 is bad at all, just for the record (although the series certainly didn't hit its stride until later on).

The Emperor's New Cloak, which I picked, wasn't too bad, They could have done a better mirror episode to bookend that arc, other than a Ferengi story, but it was watchable as I like the mirror universe.

Second Sight was good, if only for Seyetik, and his suicide, while The Muse and Let he.., while not good episodes weren't too bad to watch. Move Along Home was goofy, annoying, and predictable, and Profit and Lace was a dire transvestite farce, while Meridian was unwatchable crap.
