Pick a new uniform color (s)

What should be the color(s) of the uniforms of the intrepid crew of the USS Nevergonnahappen?

I suppose that would depend on when the show takes place. If it's not an era we've seen before (i.e. between ENT and TOS, or post-Nemesis), then it's up in the air, really.

I for one would like to see a more militaristic uniform rather than the typical red, blue and yellow pajamas of TNG. Color? Olive green

I like the colors we saw with the 29th century Starfleet uniforms in "Relativity." Blue for command, red for operations, and green for sciences. I'd take that base scheme and expand it.

Command: Blue
Operations: Red
Sciences: Green
Engineering: Gold
Security: Grey
Medical: White

I say keep the same, but expand more so departments are grouped up.

Admirality - White
Command - Red
Tactical - Dark Red
Security - Orange
Engineering - Yellow
Operations - Green
Medical - Teal
Science - Blue
* Varying different blues for different departments of sciences perhaps?
Purple - Section 31
Grey - Marines
The list could go on and on but my point being, using and sticking the same, just being more expanded?

Not saying that I'd stick with this, but I did this before as an experiment. It's kinda a super-TOS set:

I'd keep the basic red, yellow and blue for command, ops, and science/med, but add green for security because security doesn't really have much to do with engineering/ops, and add white for medical because in an emergency situation, they're the people you want to be able to identify quickly.

I'd keep medical blue but agree with C.E. Evans' purple for sciences. They should be a different department. Red for command, yellow/gold for operations, white for commodore and up, solid black/no color for chief petty officers (plus barbers and cooks) , and grey for custodial.

I'm not so sure you would get good reactions from Chief Petty Officers being uniformed the same as barbers and cooks!

None of them are actually Starfleet, right? I thought the barbers and cooks are contracted. Plus Seven would be hot in black.

Lose the boots and put everyone in comfortable shoes. The color of the shoes and socks would match the trousers (no more onesies please). The exception to the shoes would be the security personnel duty foot wear would be similar to hiking boots (no laces?), dress uniform for security would be shoes.

As I said, no single piece uniforms. In TMP one of Kirk's uniforms was a white short sleeve shirt (with small epaulets), and grey trousers, this will be the basic everyday duty uniforms look, but with different colors by sections.

Senior command (and staff). White shirt, black trousers.
Other command (bridge, etc.). Sand and black.
Engineering and support. Red and black.

Medical. Pastel green, teal.
Science. Medium blue, navy.
Security. Khaki and brown.
