I imagine it will be about Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan as retired Starfleet officers who get married and open a coffee shop on Vulcan.

You need to keep in mind that this was a possible future for Picard shown by Q if future events featured in "All Good Things" were proceeding as Q had expected. Since The Enterprise managed to alter this future (and thus the timeline), some of these events may not be happening, although others might still would have.

I think "Nemesis" holds more clue of what'll happen to the Enterprise crew, as it doesn't involved any time-altering efforts and is part of the Trek canon, whether we like it or not.

I think Data's future in "All Good Things" is less likely to happen now, as he died saving the rest of the crew in "Nemesis" - although of course one can argue that B4 will eventually adapt all his memories and personalities.

IMO it's likely we will see Riker as either a Starfleet Admiral or Captain of the USS Titan rather than Captain of a Dreadnought-class USS Enterprise.

I'm more hopeful that we'll see Picard and Crusher tying the knot at some point after "Nemesis." More than two dozen Trek novels (admittedly non-canons) have depicted it, so I believe it will happen. Whether they'll still married to each other by the time the Picard series begins is an open question though.

Gates McFadden has stated in a recent ComicCon interview that none of the other TNG crews have been asked to join the Picard series, so we may not be seeing Dr Crusher in it either, at least during its early episodes.

I guess we'll find out more as casting and filming of the series begins and potential plots/storylines are being spoiled/leaked incidentally or not. Stay tuned....

Alternatively, as retired Starfleet officers who run the Chateau Picard winery, while taking part in covert Starfleet missions from time to time.

Unfortunately Ian has already married an evil time lord trying to escape the great time war and they spend their time bitiching with each other and leching on the cute boy across the hallway.

Exactly, assuming the events of "All Good Things" would proceed as scheduled.

Yes...but that does only mean that he probably changed because its 20 years later...but not that its going to be anything against canon.

Somethings must have gone down over that 20 year period. It needs to be something interesting enough to lead to the show existing.

No, that's not correct either. It's the same Picard, set in the same universe 20 years post-Nemesis.

I’m hoping the show will be about Picard still trapped in the Nexus after all this time, and everything from the end of GEN on was just a figment of Picard’s Nexus fantasy.

    Talk about a reboot!

I'm hoping that we will find out that while they thought they had trapped Moriarty on the holodeck he had in fact allowed them to think that while trapping them on the holodeck. The show will open with the S.C.E coming on board after giving the computer core a reboot.

I want it to be retired Picard in full-on Space Archaeologist mode, exploring the Dyson Sphere from "Relics". Such an unimaginable structure wasted as a B-plot still hurts 25 years later...

Who built it? Why? When? And what did they leave behind?

That's...not at all a bad idea. High-concept sci-fi, making better use of a story point from the old series that was criminally underdeveloped, and playing into Picard's interest in archaeology. That's exactly the sort of thing that Picard could have made another career out of...and a "stationary" situation that you could easily build a series around.

That said, I have little expectation that it'll be what they're actually doing.

What do you think about this interview with writer MIchael Chabon -- who wrote the new Short Trek episode's "Calypso" on his take of how he would characterized the elderly Picard in the upcoming new series?

I'm not sure whether Chabon is part of the Picard series' writing team, but if what he says reflects their thinking as well, it's a good news for fans who are missing the values resembled in classic Trek series like TOS and TNG that are not fully reflected in new Trek series and films made over the past two decades:

Picard with a bunch of millennials for crew and turning them into the Starfleet he knew back in his days.

Sounds like a nice Trek series to me :):). Finally, a series that reintroduces the values of tolerance toward new cultures and civilizations, and puts more emphasis on discovery and exploration rather than war.

Sometime ST is known for a long time but seems to lost its way lately. Hopefully the Picard series along with "The Orville" will be able to bring them back :):).

That sounds more interesting in theory than it would be as a series I think. "Who? Why? When? What?" are questions that can be asked about anything and exploring the surface of the dyson sphere wouldn't be different from exploring a planet. Sure the dyson sphere is a bazillion times larger but the characters won't be able to explore more in the limited time we spend with them.
We'd get the same sci-fi plots just set inside a sphere because at the end of the day the dyson sphere is just a really huge place where stuff happens and for storytelling purposes that's the same thing as the galaxy.

I really hope they call it The Picard Show. :techman:

EDIT: Although with a name like that, it sounds more like a chat show. Or maybe even a one-man show with Patrick Stewart playing all the roles?
