Picard Show character breakdowns

Discovery has already done the "FATE OF THE ENTIRE GALAXY RESTS ON THIS CHILDREN'S CARD GAME" trope several times now. Just don't think about it.

LOL. Discovery did the 'ENTIRE FATE OF THE MULTIVERSE' trope in Season fucking One.

Like fuck, where do you go from there...?

While I realize the names themselves are likely placeholders, I'm a little unhappy with how human the crew is. Basically one EMH, one Romulan, and maybe one other alien character (Starton). Then four humans.

I'm hoping Connie is the only human, aside from Picard.

Lawrence can be a Cardassian. Indira can be an Andorian. Starton can be a new alien race in heavy prosthetics. Smith is a hologram, but I'm hoping his appearance isn't that of a human.

By the 25th century, Starfleet should be VERY alien.

Red Angels, obviously:p

Does anyone else think that Picard will be involved in some way behind the Red Angel plot and basically it is a plot to tie in the events of 'Discovery' with those that will be addressed in the 'Picard' series?

Based on the events of 'Calypso', we know the Discovery still exists 1,000 years into the future, and is run by an AI named Zora who's mandated to watch over the ship until its original crew returns.

I think this is a hint that the Discovery might be involved in future missions beyond the 2350-2360s. Why do I have a strange feeling that Picard and his band of misfits will somehow found the ship and use it as their ship appx 100+ years after the event of 'Disco'?

The only problem with this theory is the Picard show is being filmed in California and Discovery is filmed in Toronto. If Discovery were to be used in the Picard show as well, it would make sense to film in Toronto to use the existing sets.

If the rumors are true that this show is basically Picard going back to archeology...then it would be a sin to NOT have Vash in it in some form...maybe in a kind of "trickster"-semi-antagonist role? I always loved the bickering between Picard and Vash.

from the article:
I hear Cabrera will play the pilot of Picard’s ship who also is a skillful thief. Hurd is playing a former intelligence officer who is a brilliant analyst with a terrific memory that has not been affected by her drug and alcohol abuse.

Sounds like Lawrence and Alana characters.

Lawrence = A combination of Tom Paris and Chakotay when he was a Maquis leader

Alana = An older, wiser & more cynical version of The Orville's Alara - or more accurately, Talla ;)

To the current Trek regime, Section 31 is the legitimate intelligence division of Trek. So if Alana is human, she's ex-31.

She could always be ex-Tal'Shiar or ex-Obsidian Order.

They have acknowledged that by DS9 time (and therefore Picard) S31 goes underground, and they may even try to explain how that happens (either in Discovery or the new section31 series). Of course this doesn't prevent her from being an ex-31 agent.

Interesting casting news. The plot thickens.

If the character breakdowns are accurate to any degree (I know, huge grain of salt), it sounds like a lot of potential here. I wonder if they will dare to set the series on a non-Starfleet, or even ex-Starfleet ship?
