Picard Poster

Hey now, we don't know for sure the dog is a pet. He might just be an old drinking buddy of Picard's. ;)

The Starfleet emblem on the dog collar. That kind's like of like... a dog tag. ;)

Even though Picard left Starfleet, he thinks of himself as Starfleet. I have some friends who were in the marines. One of them said, "Once a marine, always a marine". It's the same mentality. And I think that's what they're trying to show.

That's an interesting perspective and correlation. The overuse of the delta in posters and such does suggest other possibilities other than that. Or both are underlying reasons. Yours just adds some weight behind what has been seen often as an otherwise cheesy and trite affair over the decades (1990s-present starting with "Generations"' poster, though there may have been some movie booklets and other items from the 1980s that started the trend, but it's such a go-to element that it's just overused cheese.)

Perhaps the dog talks like the one in Men in Black.

Kor

Or the ones in the Looney Tunes shorts that dance and sing and act dumb for audience laughter and affection as it bites Tom in the tush.

A picture is a thousand words, but without those thousand words being said anyone can conjure up any thousand words they want.

It looks like a ripoff of STID's poster as made by someone jonesin' for teh juice, given Picard's evil scheming mind meld with Porthos' third stunt double. And Porthos would have given everyone on the ship allergic reactions given how they recirculate the air, but I digress.

That yellow orange pukefest is nowhere near as patronizing as this:

What. Why are half your posts just rambling nonsense.

I like the poster.
  1. Nice civilian outfit
  2. I really dig the french landscape - looks almost like a movie poster, not for a frikkin' streaming show!
  3. They replaced all the other TNG characters with a dog. I'm okay with that?

I guess the "weird sunlight" planet is to evoke Picards dramatic backstory mistake(tm) of letting ROmulan getting destroyed and not helping enough - I hope they don't Luke Skywalker him (or do a Logan). Overall really still not a fan of that plot point carrying over from the reboot movies... but whatever. At least they seem to aknowledge it as the universe-changing event that it should be (unlike, say, the destruction of Vulcan which had no consequences whatsoever regarding Spock ending up as his usual self on the bridge).

Light doesn't do that unless it's coming around another planet or moon. I'm really thinking they've moved the Picard family vineyard off Earth.

Light doesn't do what?? What are you talking about? The same cloud is visible right "behind" the "planet". It's not actually an object in the sky, it's just a visual element meant to EVOKE the look of a planet.

I'm curious about this Picard poster and the series news coming to San diego comicon next week.It will be interesting to see what Patrick Stewart and new cast members say what the series is about and if there will be new TNG Picard books coming out just like they've released with the Discovery characters backstories.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but I don't like the dog included in the poster simply because I think pit bulls are super fugly. Along with bull dogs they are some of the ugliest dogs that exist. I prefer the cute, cuddly, and fluffy breeds. But I know this is Stewart's dog, so it makes sense.

Well, if the dog will make you not watch the show, then I suppose your opinion has some merit. But if you’re still going to watch regardless, then your personal opinion of pitbulls doesn’t matter in the large scheme of things. Just like how it doesn’t matter that that other guy got chased down by a pitbull and got bitten on the ass.
