Spoilers Picard News & Reviews from Outside Sources

I changed my mind after rewatching season 1 again. It's not so bad, yeah they really copied the plot of Mass Effect and had a silly Romulant cult that nobody has ever heard of before and were mucking around with a Borg cube but as a whole I don't find it as bad as when I first watched it years ago. It's season 2 and 3 that I really can't get into that much and season 2 is coming next.

PIC1's greatest sin was failing to stick the landing. Okay, it pretty much fell on the balance beam hitting itself on the head and then face planted on the mat. ;)

Nah......... This is Picard season 1's landing

Can I ask why? Not trying to be rude I really want to know
It's a fun time travel/alternate reality adventure that really shows off the strengths of its cast old and new alike. Recasted roles like young Guinan and Confederation Timeline Borg Queen also shine so bright.

And it ends on a hopeful note. Picard learns to be vulnerable to love properly. Even though Rios left he got the home and family he always wanted, Jurati similarly found belonging in bringing together a new Borg Collective. Seven and Raffi are in a stable place in their relationship and both have a happy future on the horizon and Elnor is alive and well and ready to thrive in Starfleet.

I can understand the detraction that it is just a long Tapestry/TVH but it is so much more than that and had the potential to be so much more impactful moving forward until season 3 pissed over the whole franchise.

Thank you for your very thoughtful answer much appreciated

If you had to cut season two down to movie length it would probably make more sense. 'Cause you'd have to cut out so much of the extraneous balonium.

Picard season 2 wasn't all shite. Every second of screen time shared by Sir Patrick Stewart and John Delancey was pure gold as always and I wouldn't trade them for anything. My only issue is the dodgy de-aging used for Q, but that scene was so very brief that I can give it a pass.
