I know, that's why I made the suggestion, and a defense isn't necessary in this case.
How would the situation have been different if it had been Lizard Picard and Lizard Paris attempting to make babies?
I am guessing Paris would have abducted Beverly instead.
Don't forget that even Picard had a crush on Crusher...
Actually, Janeway handled Scientific Method in a very similar way as Picard handled Where Silence Has Lease. I think in each others' shoes they would have done the same thing in those episodes.

Picard would have taken the babies home and deposited them in a carp pool on the vineyard.
Instead of taking Seven of Nine on board as a crewmember I think Picard would have blown it out the airlock before anyone got emotionally attached, the moment it attempts to assimilate the ship, like he does to the borg in First Contact. I'm thinking Chakotay and Picard would have been friends.
I think Janeway would have kept Hugh aboard and helped him become an individual. Even if he WANTED to go back to that crash site, I doubt she would have let him.
Hugh actually wanted to stay, he only decided to go back because the borg would have never let go otherwise. Apparently the borg valued Hugh more than seven. Plus Hugh was more empathic to humans, especially to Geordie than Seven ever was, even after months spent on Voyager.
Yeah not sure why Hugh was sort of neutral, even friendly when he was disconnected from the borg and Seven hated humans so much. I guess it is sort of due to the shifting towards borg being standard villains with a queen instead of indifferent force of nature that they were in early TNG.

Hahaha... if it were the Enterprise maybe it would have been Ro or the female Conn officer who Troi replaced at the helm in GEN who would have flown the shuttle and kidnapped Picard or Riker.
Speaking of Riker it possible being ""the bestest pilot on the ship" he would have flown the Warp 10 flight?
