For those of us who were Picard-Crusher shippers during the TNG series, nothing excites us more than the prospect of seeing the two characters who were meant to be with each other finally gotten together during the new Picard series.

However, while Patrick Stewart will be the central character of the new series and is placed front and center on it, so far no other TNG cast members have been known to be invited to reprise their character in the new series. That includes Gates McFadden who plays Dr Beverly Crusher in four seasons of TNG and four TNG movies.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you think the Picard-Crusher going to be treated in the new Picard series :hugegrin:

I don't think she's dead but I do think they're not together. I'm going to split the difference between divorce and marriage by saying they almost got married but didn't due to as of yet unknown circumstances.

I voted D because it's the closest one to my guess.

I think AGT did well with that relationship. The same chemistry that pulled them together forced them apart. I'm not convinced that having any of the TNG cast return except as an occasional guest star would be a good thing. Dorn has expressed interest in coming back as a regular, and I wouldn't mind seeing Frakes in as a recurring.
Sisko would be a great foil for Picard; think of Kirk and Mckoy past their prime, snitting each other to pieces.

I would love it for them to be together and happy and novel consistent (Hell, why not? ...bring in the son too! That would definitely not be the 'same' Picard as TNG) but I feel that it's more likely that if their relationship is addressed they'll be divorced and that makes me sad.

Especially because then it could still be novel consistent and somewhere along the line we get a story about how they break up and a little part of me dies.

That's what I hope as well. I'm hopeful we'll get scenario A, but also realistic enough to see scenario B as a more likely pathway the show-runners will take to address their relationship.

Especially if they're not planning to add McFadden as a regular cast -- which they might have to if the series features the two of them happily married ....

They're not. Maybe as guest star, certainly not as a regular. Remember, this isn't TNG 2.0, this is going to be a Picard show. I'd rather more of an AGT spin than anything else.

I think you're right, which is unfortunate :confused:.

As you could see, Gates McFadden ages well and can play an older Dr Crusher w/no problem,

I think it would be more interesting to have Picard have moved on with his life. People do it in real life, and it would actually be something that Trek has never done before, a series about someone moving on from their ship and forging new relationships. Besides Discovery already has the corner on "look which Trek character from another show shows up this week!"

At most, she'll be in one episode (the obligatory "reunion with some TNG cast" episode). Ideally, she'd be a photo in the background with a short, meaningful pausing look by Picard before getting back to the issue of the day.

I hope it will be more than that as it was clearly established during TNG that they were bestfriends turning into soulmates. But with the current show-runners, you'll never know:confused::confused:.

I have, frankly, no interest in any of the other TNG characters, except in passing (and that can be simply in dialogue). What makes me curious about this new series is the idea of taking a main character and placing him in an entirely new setting. I would be far, far less excited if it was a TNG reunion "twenty years later" like so many sitcoms seem to be doing these days.
