I like how history is beginning to repeat itself. In the 90s it was all about DS9 vs Voyager (even though the majority liked both). Now it might become Discovery vs Picard (and of course the majority will like both). Hopefully the arrival of 5-7 more shows will confuse everyone and end it :)

I want them to give me a reason to like both. Picard got off to a strong start. Discovery brought it Anson Mount as Pike. I would like to see Season 3 of Discovery start to stand on it's own without "Trek fan service".

I wonder if there is more to Starfleet withdrawing. Perhaps they know something Picard doesn’t.

One thing I forgot to mention, the scene between Darj and her mother got me more than it did the first time around. The mother didn't know Darj had seen Picard, yet she was adament that Picard would keep her safe. I wonder what the Mother's agenda was. I mean you get that scene in the ally and then a few minutes later Darj is dead. Maybe the mother is orchestrating the Romulan assassins? Maybe she isn't really a mother but adopted her?

Jake Sisko probably runs some puff-piece entertainment talk show by this point in his career.
Now he should have been the interviewer. That would have been a good callback. DS9 doesn’t have any representation in this show.

If I had one criticism, it was Picard not snapping back at the interviewer where she said that the Romulans were the federations oldest enemy, and Picard's response should have been "Well, they did help us win the Dominion War". It's simple, and it throws a bone to the DS9 fans that yes, the Dominion War is still part of the Federation's history.

If he knows anything about what REALLY got them into the Dominion War he might not want to touch that with a 10 parsec pole. It's been awhile. Surely at some point the truth came out.

does it really matter when Picards point was the Romulans asking for help after the supernova and the Federation abandoning them? Besides the interviewer was not good with history, hence the Dunkirk SnapBack so if the truth did come out I would think it’s irrelevant at this point.

Its a five-of-a-kind flush.

See, that’s made me think about the ‘Dahj and sisters are Borg queens in waiting’ thing. Picard still has limited telepathy linking him to the collective...what if some neutron of data got stuck in the mix, growing, after FC, and there are 5 sisters out there.
