Photo hunt

We had some pretty severe weather move through back in June. This was the sky just before it started pouring (with wind and lightning, too):

Next: Something falling apart (rusted, collapsing, etc.).

Here you go, the house that Beyonce used in a recent video:

And here it is in the video :

^All the Beyonce scenes in the vid are in front of this house. She paid the homeowners I think 300 dollars to use it.

(Next up: something musical)

My favorite photo of me and my nephew--about 10 years ago. He's now a depressed, rebellious, sullen teenager. But here, we were very close and he was a surprisingly happy kid. His mother (my oldest sister) had abandoned him for a crack house, his stepfather couldn't cope and had nervous breakdown and the biological father was a major jerk. My elderly parents took the boy in and I moved in with them, temporarily, to help out. I became his caretaker, more or less, for the next year, even though the biological father had legal custody. That Christmas, when the little guy was still obsessed with trains, was one of the best. It was my parents, me and the little guy and a house full of animals. It was great, despite the circumstances.

next: a favorite toy

Two of my favorite toys from when I was a kid. One was a gift from my grandparents and I think the other was Santa one year. Both are waiting to be fixed up a bit and then displayed in my home.

Let's keep this one around for another go:

A favorite toy.

My niece, making a face, as I take her picture while we're picnicking by the South Congress bridge in Austin:

next up: hugs!

^I've driven on that bridge. The school for the Deaf is few blocks south

Bats are fascinating creatures. Growing up, the kids in my neighborhood (and I) would spend summer evenings throwing tennis balls up into the air and watching as bats would track them.

As for hugs ... would an imminent bear hug count? ;)

Next (in honor of the bat): something from the night time.

^That screams for a new meme

The dog at bedtime….

Next up…rainy

from this year's school ball at my old school: a transgender mermaid

and the whole cast:

The show was awesome. I love how they did the water with that blue plastic sheet!

next: something fishy
