Phone Company Shenanigans

Actually I found that the most effective way of dealing with the religious people on my doorstep was to open the door, thank them, and tell them in no uncertain terms that I was happy with my current spiritual needs supplier and wasn't interested in switching at this time.

It was a show called 'Confessions' ITV1, Tues 3rd March. It was billed as confessions of flight attendants but was all sales stories. I was particularly amused by the guy who was so desperate to get the deal signed he spent the weekend singing in a church choir to befriend the 'mark'. He did get the deal but I don't think it bought him any closer to God:lol:

Brilliant!

The only thing close to that I had was with the personal accident insurance. The policy was set up in such a way that it benefited wrestlers quite nicely. I had told a few of the guys about it and they were interested, especially one who couldn't get any other insurance due to pre existing medical conditions (I had the same, got a policy, claimed back a LOT).

I told everyone and had a few confirmations. But told my team leader that they needed more convincing. He ended up coming to a few shows, buying some merch to get on side, training with us and doing some PR work. All because I told him they needed to see they could put their faith in him.

I ended up making my company a few pennies with the merch and tickets sold, a tenner a time on training sessions and money saved on the PR front.

Also made myself 34 sales with £10 commision on each one. Considering that was seven times the weekly target I got a little lazier after that

I'm usually polite, tell them I'm not interested, and get no where.
And the same tactic hardly ever works with Energy suppliers either. It's like you have to get impolite with them before they'll listen.

That's genius:lol:. Make money, save money and humiliate team leader in the process!
I just couldn't sell. I'm made to be the person giving away free samples:( and poor

Yeah, the politeness thing can or can't work. I think it was the fact that I wasn't a) hostile; and b) using the phrase "spiritual needs supplier" really threw the religious people on my doorstep for a bit of a loop :D
