Phineas and Ferb did a special Star Wars episode.

This is Phineas and Ferb.

Amusing Saturday Toon your grandchildren are growing out of because they're big now and above kidcrap...

They approach the situation that there were a whole bunch of missing scenes from A New Hope (1977) and that the entire original movie now makes a lot more sense after this new 20 minutes is added to the complete story.

But it doesn't matter.

I'm sure that Star Wars by itself naked and raw is still enjoyable.

You have been warned.

I thought it was a cute episode, but I don't know that show so I didn't know who the characters were. It was particularly interesting to see the events of New Hope done in 2D animation. We'd already seen that in Family Guy of course but not the actual characters.

Actually, it looks like they recycled the CGI models from Family Guy.

I remember when Muppet Babies did a Star Wars episode. I seem to recall they aired it at night outside of the regular Saturday morning block back when Saturday Morning cartoons meant something… I believe the plot for that one revolved around Nanny (or whatever the adult ladies name was that we only saw her feet) let kermit and the gang use her video camera and they decided t remake scenes from Star Wars.

I thought it was interesting to see Star Wars animated in that style. Maybe a bit of a prelude to the softer look we've seen from Rebels.

I thought it was clever to have the sister in the Empire. In the show, she is always trying to follow the rules and convince her parents that Phineas and Ferb are building a waterpark in the backyard or whatever that week's shenanigans bring. Her song about being "In the Empire" just sealed the deal.

My two college-aged sons and I love the show and thought the SW special was quite well done and entertaining.

My kids and I love this show (and I think any kids show that includes a scene where 10 year olds are trading "philosopher trading cards"--I'll give you two Sartres for a Nietzsche--is an all-time fantastic kids show). Haven't caught the Star Wars episode yet, but I expect it to be excellent as usual.
