Phase II shutting down?

I wonder is there is some division in the ranks at PhaseII? There is recent comment from a Phase II team member to James's facebook post called 'I'm Done' that seems wierd unless it's sarcasm of some sort. Out of respect I wont post it here.

I will say that that I do support all the work James has done, the past couple times I have meet him has been good, we do differ on some issues but I always respected James and all the Phase2 work and team, great stuff!

James has been a professional entertainer for a long time. It underestimates him to worry that a difficult audience would discourage him to the extent of shutting down a project that he's committed to.

Good point. If there's a more discerning, obsessed fan base than Trekkers and Trekkies, it would be Elvis fans.

It appears it was in relation to a personal matter and nothing to do with Star Trek Phase II.

Nothin' to see here folks.

I just went over to James' Facebook page, and he just posted that his comment yesterday had nothing to do with Star Trek at all.

Everyone is entitled to a bad day every now and then, I wish James the best.

^ Agreed. I wish him all the best. Plus, James and the wonderful people at Phase II are too good to go anywhere. :D

BTW, I just donated some bux to Phase II. It should have occurred to me to do it sooner.

I encourage *everyone* who's downloaded, watched, and enjoyed any of the CowleyTrek episodes to help support future endeavors. I plan to throw more money at them later, as well.

Tony

Giving to Phase II, although it's not a 501(c)(3) deductible charity, is a little like giving to the ballet or orchestra or supporting a local art museum, or PBS. You are really supporting your own cultural enjoyment, and something you yourself use. Some people are pledging to give a few dollars every month, so that the Phase II people don't have to worry about where their next money is coming from in addition to all the great work they do producing those amazing fan films.

I am just relieved to see that the issue wasn't concerning Phase II, and, for what it's worth, wish James all the best in getting the personal issue resolved quickly and peacefully.

Exactly, and he has just as much a right to use Facebook as a tool to vent as the rest of us do.

James sometimes makes these type of cryptic posts on his FaceBook page. (Don't we all?) And it always amazes me that it creates such an uproar and outpouring of support and, well, BEGGING. (Although this is the first time it inspired a 3 page thread in a forum!)

What it all says to me is just how IMPORTANT "Phase II" is to the Trek fan community. This isn't some declaration of a self-important feeling of grandeur... it's a reflection on the reaction of fans when they think it may be going away. Good or bad, there's a fan base out there for whom "Phase II" matters.. and I think that says a lot. All the hard work, sweat, and lack of sleep is not going unappreciated.

As for James' posts... his life is a full as the rest of ours. Maybe the next time he posts "I'm Done!" we should encourage folks to finish the sentence....

"I'm Done!"....

...filling out my income tax form

...changing my oil
...sewing the last button on James West's vest
...moving Captain Kirk's chair to winter storage
...paying bills
...sewing the rhinestones on the Elvis "Aloha" jumpsuit
...painting the living room
...repainting the bridge
...with tonight's Elvis show
...dyeing my hair black

...taking out the air conditioners and servicing my furnace
...answering the 400 emails I received this morning
