Pets named after characters from movies, TV etc

I once knew someone with cats named Demon, Wizard, Merlin, and Princess. He was a Dungeons & Dragons fan. Oh, I once had a gorgeous calico that I named Padme. She was the only cat I ever had that would vocally answer to her name.

I've got a cat named Gimli.

That's a GREAT name for a cat.

My folks did too back in the70s. When they brought me home from the hospital at 3 days old, it ran away. Even at that age I didn't like cats.

When I was eighteen I was rereading LOTR and I named my cat Frodon. Man, I loved that cat...

When I was growing up we had a black and white cat that my brother named Flower after the skunk in Bambi.

We also had a cat named Butch. It was my Aunt's but we took her (yes it was a female) when she moved somwhere that she couldn't have a cat. Named after Butch from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (my Aunt's favorite movie). Butch ruled the house, gave one of the Doberman's a bloody nose one time and the Dobe never messed with her again.

Speaking of our Dobermans, we had one and she had pups, and I got to keep one. He was a brown/red Dobe and I named him Flash after Flash Gordon.

Wow...didn't realize until this thread how many pets I've had over the years that have been named after fictional characters.

For my Mom's first Mother's Day (for my older sister), my parents had agreed to get a cat. My Mom thought it would be a tabby, but Dad bought Mom a beautiful Siamese. She named her Piwacket, after the Siamese in "Bell, Book, and Candle."

I have a dachshund mix named Augie Doggie. He was a stray so I've never met his Doggy Daddy, though. His brother is named Odie, like Garfield's friend, but his adoption certificate actually says "Odin Napoleon." My mom talked me out of naming him Odie at first because she thought it was too close to "Augie" and they'd get confused. They didn't.

In high school I had two pet rabbits named Cheech and Chong. Cheech was white with black markings, and had markings on his face that looked like a mustache.

My brother once had a beta fish named Bruce Campbell.

Starbuck died young in a climbing exercise through a window crack on he 3rd floor.
