Petition: Cancel the New CBS Star Trek Series Now!

This thread is much too silly. I am therefore starting a petition to cancel the thread about the petition to cancel the new Star Trek series.

As the only fan who understands the *true* vision of Star Trek, I will be giving my wholehearted support to this very sensible petition. I would rather Trek *died* than not meet my exact specifications! :klingon:

Is wearing pants optional when reading this thread?

No reason, really. Just asking.

Anyway, this is a pretty big satire fail. It manages to simultaneously be a nerd stereotype and attack nerd strawmen.

Why is it every time something people are excited about is announced on the internet, as soon as people naturally start to express any small reservations, some obnoxious troll comes along and makes an 'OMIGOSH IM SO CLEVER' parody post like everybody who isn't unreservedly gushing it is just an unsatisfiable complainer?

I do believe that calling someone a troll is an actionable penalty here at this board.

MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think there's a difference between "unreservedly gushing" and being bemused by all the angst and drama over a show that doesn't even exist yet!

And let's be honest: there's also a difference between "any small reservations" and some of the premature doom-saying we've witnessed over the last few days.

It says something that I actually thought the petition was legit at first . . . .
