You are aware that silent films can and do have music, yes? Silent just means there's no dialogue.
You're probably right about the artists just not being in fashion; I should Google some old bands from the 70s and 80s and see what they're up to. Come to think of it, I remember the Guess Who just performed in Boston a couple of Summers ago.
Well said. It's a very good cause. It's a shame PETA didn't simply ask for their endorsement or for them to participate in ads, rather than ask something they must have known would never happen.I find this sad on 2 fronts, firstly that people are so keen to assume that there can't be any truth to it that they are not prepared to give the perfectly reasonable idea that getting a pet from a shelter is a better thing to do that get one from a pet shop a fair shake, secondly that PETA have evidently blown their wad entirely with a few high profile nutcase campaigns and destroyed their public image and now when they have a light hearted take on a serious subject everyone just waaaahs about them.
Either way, most people haven't really considered this issue on it's own merits and are just railing against PETA for the hell of it.
Klaatu... rings a bell (beyond "Klaatu berada niktu")... was that the band that was once implied to be the secret reunion of the Beatles? I thought they were just a studio band? Or am I thinking of something else?Heck, Klaatu released a new album recently!
Twice No. 1 in France! Awesome!AC/DC is still one of the biggest touring bands in the world, routinely selling out 50,000+ seat venues. They headlined the largest North American concert in history 6 years ago, half a million people in Toronto. Their latest album Black Ice hit No. 1 in Canada, France, Italy, Australia, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Australia, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Norway and Portugal.
Trivia: Angus Young lives in Holland...Quite frankly, it shows a pretty big amount of ignorance in music to say "they're still around?" unless you live in some kind of cave, even in Holland.

Interesting. They must have had another hit of some kind, because I don't remember them doing "Calling Occupants." I do remember The Carpenters doing a version in the early 80s, though.
"Anus of Uranus" ?Interesting. They must have had another hit of some kind, because I don't remember them doing "Calling Occupants."
Yes, she feels throwing already dead fish is disrespectful to the fish. In fact, they're not even fish -- they're sea kittens!!!!The AVMA plans to team up veterinarians and employees of Pike Place Fish Market for a dead fish (fish is crossed out) sea kitten toss at its upcoming convention in Seattle. The event organizers promise that the event will be "outrageously fun."
