Spoilers Peacemaker - Discussion

This is what the DCEU has become. :)
It was okay but this isn’t what I want for this universe. At least it’s just a tv show and not a movie
Remember when they were going to be pumping out a several DCEU movies a year? Crazy that it's taken so many detours.

Peacemaker is DCEU and The Batman isn't, go figure. :)

I was reading that the higher ups really didn't care for Peacemaker calling Batman a pussy (more than Aquaman fucking fish). Between that and the whole Catwoman sex deal it seems that Batman exists in a rarefied protective bubble of DC. I think they are scared shitless of anything shifting the hotness of that property.

As far as Warner Brothers is concerned, Batman has been their only really profitable superhero character. So naturally they're going to be very overprotective about anything pertaining to that particular character.

If you remember a quote from the opening of the Lego Batman movie:

" Warner Bros. The house that Batman built..."
^^^
Yeah so to them that really isn't a joke, it's a statement of fact.

Another great episode. The series is very strongly written and directed. It's impressive how all this came together so quickly.
I'm a Batman fan but I love all of Peacemaker's bitch talk about him. But clearly we are in a new timeline since Peacemaker said that Batman doesn't kill anyone.

So is this all canon to the DCEU? lol

I am impressed with Gunn's crafting of a soundtrack that is so well suited for this series yet works in a completely different manner and style to GOTG.

Loved PM blowing marijuana smoke on the butterfly and it later rolling its jar toward him as he suffered on the floor with Eagly.

Kevin Smith reviews the first few episodes, gives a sneak peek at episode #4, and then talks to James Gunn:

To be fair when has the DCEU version of the Batman killed anyone?

Bruce Wayne in the Titans series has, and they made a very big deal about that, but that is in a different continuity from the DCEU feature film continuity that Peacemaker is a part of.

Doh my bad, I tend to put Batman vs Superman out of my mind because I didn't like the film; but you are absolutely correct and I'm absolutely wrong.

Ep 5 brought the violence. The fight scene in the distribution center was intense. Peacemaker racked up a big body count. And I was not expecting
economos to chainsaw the gorilla.

Nice episode. Despite the action and Superman's....fetish. I thought it wasn't as strong as the previous episodes. A tiny bit run of the mill. But still very good stuff.

Yeah. But I do think the show is doing a good job of moving the different plots forward and ending each episode with a new development or plot twist that makes us want to see what happens next. For example, this episode moved the plot forward with the cops finding out that Peacemaker's dad was framed and we got Adebayo using Peacemaker's x-ray helmet and finding out that Murn is a butterfly and ending on the cliffhanger of Murn chasing Adebayo into the street.

That was pretty graphic. I hope nothing bad happens to Adebayo. The show continues to have a killer soundtrack. You don’t hear a lot of 80’s glam metal on tv these days.

DCEU Batman sure hasn't killed the Joker, and wasn't that Peacemaker's point?!

What is Lego Batman's body count?
