Reprise his role? 
Now, granted, it's been about 3 years since I last saw Emissary, and my memory is not what it once was...but I don't recall him being in Emissary as Locutus. I remember the battle at Wolf 359 and the ship being badly damaged and about to blow...and Sisko trying to get Jennifer out to no avail as she'd been covered by debris...and Sisko and Jake getting in the pod and being ejected and next thing you know they are in a holodeck fishing...but I don't recall seeing Patrick Stewart until Sisko went to see Picard on the Enterprise before the Enterprise was leaving DS9. The conversation where Sisko tells Picard that he's rethinking his life.
Maybe someone else will remember better than I. But that's all I recall.

Your memory's a bit worse than you think. Not counting the opening text crawl, Locutus is in the very first shot of DS9, and speaks the very first line of dialogue.^ And there you have it.

Now seriously though...I do remember the bridge of the Saratoga...and I remember them getting hit numerous times and the alarms going off and such...and I remember the external views and the abandon ship and Sisko going to try and get Jennifer and Jake out but only managing to get Jake...and him not wanting to leave Jennifer...and the life pod ejection.
But I don't recall seeing Picard until the scene on the Enterprise at DS9.

Speaking of the first episode, man that was a great scene when we see the Borg cube just destroying the federation ships.
Vash must be getting old.
Vash is PKTrekGirl? Well that solves that mystery. I've read a few posts referring to Vash but then never see her posts!
Nah, no stock footage. It was a big deal at the time that Patrick Stewart was involved as much as he was. It's kinda funny though that no other TNG character made it into "Emissary". Even when OBrien is on the Ent-D bridge, there are no other characters like Data or Worf or Riker. Not even Ro Laren, I mean she was reduced to a child with OBrien's wife, helped out OBrien with nursemaiding Troi to save the Enterprise when it hit the quantum filament, and there wasn't even a "Hey OBrien, it means alot that your helping my people" or anything. Maybe the budget called for just Stewart. But one scene i did like with Locutus at the beginning of "Emissary" was when he was on the Borg ship looking through the cubed borg viewscreen during the attack.
