Patrick Stewart said he'd play Picard again

About comic books, I don't read them, I don't care about them, and I'm not at all aware of any of the storylines from any of the publishers.
My position is if you have to read a tie-in comic book or website to understand the logic of a film, it's a bad film. The practice seems to have started with The Matrix.

I'd love it if we saw a scene of, oh say, Pine and Quinto talking in the lobby of Starfleet Command, and while the camera's focused on them, behind them there would be a small white flash in the distant back left corner of the room. Stewart and de Lancie materialize from afar. Pine and Quinto wouldn't notice and keep talking, but you could just barely see Stewart looking around in a mix of frantic anger and confusion, and then kind of hear Stewart yell, "WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME, Q?!", to which he'd respond, "Oh Jean-Luc, what didn't I do?" Then he snaps his fingers and they disappear in a tiny flash again, with nuKirk and nuSpock none the wiser as the movie goes on.
I'd laugh my ass off.

I have been reading and enjoying the Q Gambit's, the storyline is great and it guest stars characters from TNG and DS9. I would love to see Piccard again on the big screen even more than jim kirk prime as he is my favourite captain. maybe there is a way they can squeeze Picard in trek 3.

I'd love to see a scene where there is another meeting/hearing with the Admiralty and the Admirals present are played by Shatner, Stewart, Brooks, Mulgrew and Bakula. No name plates or dialog just a pan of the group.

:techman: And they should all be wearing black eyepatches. There's your nod to the 50th right there.

It's ironic that the only evidence of TNG in nuTrek is Ambassador Spock, which was originally a TOS link in TNG.

Where no one has gone before? (although they should've used Man, I guess Spock Prime mustve pointed out it wasn't pc enough)

And goatees. They all need to wear goatees.

The only way I could ever see it happening (not that I want to, mind you), would be to also involve Guinan. She's already proven on a number of occasions that she can transcend the trappings of conventional linear time and space. She could be the "living McGuffin" to allow for multi-generational cross-overs in the same movie to solve a major problem that "threatens the very history and existence of the Federation, blah, blah, etc." Throw the Q in there for good measure as the ones pulling the cosmic strings - pun somewhat intended - and you get the fangasm movie that some would feel justifies its own existence for the 50th.

There likely isn't enough money in Paramount's coffers to accomplish such a movie, nor is there a living writer to remove the "wank" from the "fanwank" on such an endeavor, but hey, wouldn't something like this just get the fansphere buzzing for about 6 to 10 months leading up to release? Sometimes the anticipation alone is enough to pay the bills for the bottom line...

One major cosmic string I'd like to see Q pull is to completely erase Generations thus returning Kirk to LIVING Legend status.

Motivation: He always liked that Kirk gave that little punk Trelane a spanking.

Sure, why not? The "reset button" has long been a Trek story-telling staple. ;)

I wont be surprised if the last scene of star trek 3 will be an introduction to next generation characters. thereby closing the time travel loop that started with star trek 2009. the loop in the sense that regardless of the never ending alternate universes of trek, the enterprise crew will still follow the prime pattern and that is:

from star trek tos character sto next generations characters to deep space nine characters to voyager characters and to enterprise characters.

So we could see Patrick Stewart as Picard again, they will use cgi to make him look very young although Patrick hardly ages.:)

I would be extraordinarily astonished, not to mention extremely disappointed, if the above were to happen. I'm willing to bet 5 million quatloos it won't. Any takers? ;)

Mostly because Spock is a scientist, knows about time travel, is a touch telepath, and was the logical person to be the bridge, Kirk being dead (and who should also stay dead, IMHO.)

As for a Stewart cameo-what for? Unless it's his future self come back in time to help the crew from Q as in The Q Gambit (or his other dimensional self), I don't think that will work-and his future self would have to be the same age as he was when he was captain of the Enterprise-D, as his 'future' self from All Good Things... was a much older man suffering from Irumodic Syndrome and was sometimes a bit fuzzy in the head (maybe Tom Hardy could be persuaded to come back as Captain Picard? He considers his role as Shinzon/Picard to be an Old Shame, as I recall.)

That is extremely unlikely. They didn't just "reboot" TOS just so we could see TNG/DS9/VOY characters again.
