Paternity Leave and Job Seeking

Continuing that metaphor, we can stock up on mammoth meat during the pregnancy and stick it in the freezer. That way when the baby comes, we can eat and stay home.

:techman:

Thinking ahead is soooo non-traditional. You're supposed to just react when they pop out, like they do in Monty Python's "Meaning of Life."

Also, in our case, both kids were born by C-Section. My wife couldn't drive for six weeks. I needed to be home to take care of her.

She's conning you. I watched Prometheus and even an hour after an alien-baby C-section, a woman can put on a space suit, run from a crashing space ship, and fight giant aliens. Ridley Scott wouldn't make something like that up.

Know you're just having fun, but I think you'll find that if your spaceship is crashing, or giant aliens are attacking you, you'll suck it up a little and find some extra strength. I might not feel up for going for a jog on two broken legs, but bet your ass I run faster than you if an alien is trying to eat me!

Being out of milk doesn't rise to that level of motivation... ;)

But being out of smokes does!

Still, before he plans out his paternity leave, he needs to find out if his wife is having a normal kid or a hybrid alien redneck squidbilly. If it's a face-hugger he'll want to spend more time at the office instead of filling baby-bottles with warm human blood, and perhaps consider putting the kid up for adoption by a top-secret government agency or a giant biotech weapons conglomerate.

My question: When should i advise any potential employer of my paternity leave? At the application stage, during an interview or when Im offered a job (if Imsuccessful)?
I can't think of any possible benefit to you in bringing this up.
