News Paris Was Almost On Picard Season One

^ We could get a scene where Picard comments on the beauty of Paris, just as Tom steps into the room, resulting in unintentional ho-yay humor.

That would be pretty much horrible... We find that Nick's spent the last 30 years in a greasy spoon in some seedy godforsaken spaceport, sweeping floors and repairing 300-year-old plasma conduits... thanks to Picard's noble "First Duty" speech.
Or maybe he was so embittered by the experience that he turned into some kind of outlaw type. That could be interesting

An outlaw type would have an inherent coolness to it. I more envision a man whose existence has been reduced to an absolute, pathetic, meaningless waste... all because of Picard's "inspirational" speech, years ago.

I would probably be able to buy into the idea that Paris might've known Rios somehow and would've been someone who referred Picard to him, but, Tom Paris and Jean Luc-Picard have no connection with each other at all. I'm actually still wanting to know how Picard even knows Seven...unless there was some former Borg drone support group they both were part of.

I agree that Rios might know Paris personally from sth Starfleet/ pilot work related... But still would find it pointless if he showed up on the show.

As for Seven/ Picard, I remember I thought they didn't necessarily know each other personally, but rather knew about each other. Or maybe they briefly met at a SF function after Voy's return. You're right, I would like to know, too.

Well, mainly because of the kid he got killed...

That too. Another reason for him to be a loser instead of a pirate... the latter's been done.

Damn, I'd love to see Tom appear on PIC, if for nothing else, just to drop some info about where B'Elanna and Miral are at now. How do mainstream Klingons react to the "Kuva-magh?" Yes I know "Star Trek: Online" and the novels cover this, but what about in the "Picard" timeline?
