Parents brawl at Kindergarten Graduation

Prosecutors filed misdemeanor charges against two women whose argument reportedly sparked a brawl during a kindergarten graduation ceremony in June.

I'd probably pick fights at kindergarten graduations if I had to live in Victorville too.

I've seen some high class broads go at each other over really silly things because they thought it would give their child an upper hand.

I realize that's not the case here, but it does happen.

Oh there are graduation ceremonies when leaving university. But never at school.

Yeah, it's quite funny: here in Italy we make a show of almost everything, but universities are quite frugal in comparison. Maybe they are worried they will get cuts in their founding if they squander in ceremonies and the like.

We have some sort of ceremony when we finish school (nothing too fancy, though, no funny hats and gowns) but usually not at university. I think that's mainly because they're mass universities and people finish at different times so it isn't easy to organise a ceremony.

VICTORVILLE, Calif. - Two women have been arrested following a parents' brawl that interrupted a Southern California kindergarten graduation ceremony, authorities said.

School officials placed Puesta del Sol Elementary in the desert town of Victorville on lockdown Wednesday morning after a fight broke out among a group of parents.

The San Bernardino County sheriff's department says witnesses told deputies several mothers were involved in an argument and it got physical in a field near the ceremony. Several men then jumped into the fray and the incident turned into a brawl.

A deputy later arrested two people on suspicion of being a disruptive presence at a school. Witnesses said they were the main instigators. In all, 20 adults were identified in the brawl. A school district official said there could be more arrests.

No injuries were reported.

Of course before I even opened this thread, I just KNEW these loons would be from California... home of the loons.
