"Parallels" Line-by-Line

Hello, Welcome!

We've recently finished our "The Changeling" Line-by-line" over in the TOS Forum!

After each completed thread, we're randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was LeadHead! (Who, me?) And LeadHead has chosen "Parallels" to be our next project!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes, each episode is a separate thread.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I or my Wesley Crusher Clone, CoveTom (:techman:) will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

Lets see how the Bat'leth tournament ended!

Worf at the Pilots seat of the Shuttlecraft Curie

Worf: Personal Log: Stardate 47391.2 I am returning from the Bat'leth tournament of Forcas 3. The conditions were difficult, several contenders were maimed. But, I was triumphant. I won Champoin Standing.

Worf holds up the huge trophy.

Worf: I am looking forward to resuming my duties aboard the Enterprise. However, I am anticipating a troubling situation.

Later, Worf and Riker walk through a corridor on the Enterprise...

(Worf keeps looking around for something)

Riker: It looks like we're going to have to head into the Argus Array. This is the third time this year it's stopped relaying data. Starfleet's beginning to think it's more than a simple malfunction. I want you to start a long range scan once we get. Lieutenant? Are you listening to me?

Worf: Today is my... birthday.

Worf and Riker enter Worf's quarters, Worf is suspicious and looking around.

WORF: Because it is my birthday I assumed that you or one of the others would try to mount an unexpected social gathering.

Riker: A surprise party? Mister Worf, I hate surprise parties. I would never do that to you.

Riker Leaves. Worf puts down his bat'leth and the trophy. Worf takes a moment to properly arrange it and then walks toward his bedroom. And then...

Data, Troi, La Forge, Crusher and others: SURPRISE!!!!

Some fire off party streamers, Troi and Crusher each kiss Worf on the cheek as Riker returns to the room, putting a Birthday hat on Worf.

After the main titles, Worf is presented with a cake, complete with candles.

Riker, Crusher, La Forge, Troi, Data and others: (singing) Cha Worf to'gah nah lo pre'tok. Cha Worf to'gah nah lo pre'tok. Cha Worf to'gah nah lo preeeeeeee'tok.... Tu mak dagh Cha Doh borak!

Worf blows out the candles, reluctantly.

Deanna: It wasn't easy to translate. There doesn't seem to be a Klingon word for ''jolly.''

Crusher Holds up a knife.

Crusher: It's traditional for the birthday boy to cut the cake.

Riker: Captain Picard sends his birthday wishes, he was needed on the bridge.

(Worf cuts a slice of cake)
