I read a head line titled Star Trek goes Apes....I stopped there and had an idea for parallel universe Trek plot. Suppose the new Enterprise is out exploring and falls into a wormhole that knocks all of the crew unconscious. When the crew awakes that have become like the Apes from the Planet of the Apes where all humans have been made slaves and test experiments in completely backwards parallel universe.
The crew would then have to convince Starfleet to not venture through the wormhole as it would introduce the alternative universe into the already alternative universe.
While trying to keep Starfleet from entering the wormhole the crew must also stop the brutal treatment of humans at the hands of the Apes while Starfleet chases the human lovers down to imprison them.
"What is that coming out of her nose?"
"Humans?"
"There goes the planet."
