Pancakes or Waffles?

Choose which is better, and explain why.

I started this thread because I am about to go home and make some waffles, my personal preference.

I think it comes down to texture. Pancakes are softer and fluffier, and waffles are crisp. I like both, but like the crispy taste of a waffle better. I also like those indentations on a waffle, so perfect for drenching in syrup.

Also, what kind of special types of pancakes and waffles do you enjoy? What Toppings?

I really enjoy blueberry waffles, and think a bit of peanut butter put in pancake batter is amazing.

It has been many a year since I have eaten a waffle but I have pancakes quite often.

In Australia we call small sweet pancakes - pikelets.

Waffels without a doubt. They have all those wonderfull pockets to hold the syrup and butter and have that crispy outer layer.
Because of the grid pattern I sometimes call them pancakes for the obsessive compusive.

both are delicious but I prefer pancakes, especially IHOP buttermilk pancakes. I dunno what it is, there's some quality they have that just makes my tummy so happy
