Palin steps down as governor

Oh, it would be so nice if the Republicans run her in 2012. And it's possible. It's most probably going to be a year for a Right-Wing sacrificial candidate.

You might have forgotten, but people decided that very thing in November.

I wasn't aware Sarah Palin ran for President last year.

She was on the ticket and her lack of experience was seen as a drag. Quitting half way through your only serious experience isn't going be able to be spun in a positive way for her in 2012.

Sadly though there are many who will buy into whatever she claims were her reasons. They will stand behind their "hockey mom" because she's "just like them!". Nevermind that she is a quitter and an opportunist.

She looked like a deer in headlights, and has buried her announcement on the Friday before a national holiday.

On top of that a Presidential run will now include the nickname Bailin' Palin.

I doubt she's quitting for a run in 2012. MAYBE a Senate run in 2010, but, really, the rambling speech, the rabbit-scared eyes, and the timing suggests there be a major scandal a-brewin'.

Maybe it's fallout from Troopergate.

The first lame assed excuse she gave was she didn't want to waste money as a lame duck governor. That's easy to fix- stay at home, don't spend money and do your dammed job. .

Then she said something about the Lt. Governor taking office would result in a smoother transition to the next administration? Is the Lt. Governor planning a run or something?

Yep- it's a scandal. This is too bizarre and given SC's governor just going through his own, I'm sure somebody in her office with a brain (and I have no idea who that might've been) told her to get out and try to go with a little dignity.

Then she saw that shiny camera, opened her mouth and dignity took a back seat.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with her not being able to take than juicy book deal as sitting Gov'na.

Republicans are to Money as Pigs are to _______.

It could be that she wants to be home with youngest with his autism, and to help Bristol with her kid. Though, she could never say that as reason to leave her job as that would have worse repercussions than kinky sex affair.

No, it would not. And I wasn't aware of the youngest. Keeping a kid with the family in that situation is a huge time investment. A lot of people just put them with the State and hardly visit.

Yes, it would. It would send a message that a woman can't handle the job because she has to be home with the family

It's a mess anyway you cut it.

Uh, Palin's toddler, Trig, has Down Syndrome, not autism.

If it were her son Trig's Down Syndrome or her daughter's child then she should've said to support her children. So far it's been the usual wishy-washy political noncommittal response.

I can see the partisan press wetting their diapers even more than a month ago. It's so funny how those that direct them are so scared of her.
