They're actually not so hard. For peace day one year I read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes to my 3rd graders and we wrote wishes on the inside of origami paper and folded our wishes into cranes. We had to work together in small groups and do it step by step, but most of the kids were able to fold cranes on their own. It was a lovely project -- all the cranes hanging around the room.Forget about the portrait; I wouldn't have been able to make the paper crane!

Board rules be damned, I hate tsq!*
*And by "hate" I mean I am jealous of his talents, of course. :P
Did a picture at Starbucks today, after I folded a bit of newspaper into a crane:
*ridiculously awesome sketch that puts my chicken scratch to shame*
