Painting

  • the tree branch splits when confronted with a given problem of what way is more light.,?
  • so does light photons split when confronted with the harmonic resonance of where to be brightest
  • combine the two into 2 perfectly analyzed systems of equations with the result being the tree itself but is this the tree of life or the tree of knowledge? both neither either or and nor not.

proving that the prediction of tree (Y) forks is eating my mind up like chopsticks in winter.

I was a bit of a painting machine this weekend.

I finished up a pair of autumn trees:

And then I wanted something a little halloweeny so I created a simple black and white moon background and based on an old pin-up put in a witch silhouettehttp://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=silhouette&spell=1.

At first I was thinking I may keep the witch but then I decided to just go ahead and sell her.

Love that Witch. Great detail in the profile and the lace and the bristles.

I know. "In a spare moment while sipping my coffee, I created an incredible photorealistic portrait that most people couldn't hope to accomplish if they worked on it for a hundred years." :rommie:

Very nice, tsq. :bolian:

Excellent, excellent work, tsq.

Board rules be damned, I hate tsq!*

THanks everyone.:alienblush: Actually, I feel a bit guilty spending time drawing anything other than my book, so it's nice to recieve positive feedback.
Forget about the portrait; I wouldn't have been able to make the paper crane!
They're actually not so hard. For peace day one year I read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes to my 3rd graders and we wrote wishes on the inside of origami paper and folded our wishes into cranes. We had to work together in small groups and do it step by step, but most of the kids were able to fold cranes on their own. It was a lovely project -- all the cranes hanging around the room.

She appreciates the compliment. ;)

I did a color version of the Newspaper Crane drawing from the other week -- as per norm my scanner's cut an inch off round the edges:

I need to bulk up my portfolio; I didn't accomplish much artistically during college (didn't study art), and since I graduated the bulk of my artistic time has been devoted to the picture book I've created. I find that I don't have nearly as many complete drawings as I would like.

^Thanks. Though they are hanging on strings!

I actually have had another idea for a kids book, involving paper cranes because I love them so much. It would be very different to the classic, Sadako, of course.
