I really do wonder if it had to do with the onset of Irumodic syndrome symptoms. Him pushing her away because he doesn't want her to have to take care of him.

That would be an awful reason to divorce someone though. It would mean Beverly was a heartless, rather callous woman to dump her husband just because he's getting difficult. She went into the marriage knowing there were possible problems ahead, surely as a doctor she should be better able to deal with them? I'm not happy with the idea that she'd let him push her away. She should know better than that.
