P/C: our thread is eternal

I already have a screencap and av for Bev-on-a-desk :p :)

It's the mind behind Bev-on-a-desk that is missed.

How're things going at Oxford? Everything going swimmingly, I hope?

I've had some caffeine pumped into my system for a while now, and blowing up ships and liberating planets via FlashTrek and FlashTrek: Broken Mirror helped, so I got to thinking ("A dangerous habit!" "I know")

Based on the personalities and characteristics of both Bev and Jean-Luc:

What do you think would be the ideal P/C date for both of them?

Should the two be in the sort of "More than friends, less than lovers" relationship that they seemed to be in from about Season 4-5 onwards?

Are the two destined, due to personality and obligations, to have a star-crossed relationship?

And, finally, could you really see the two of them settling down and operating a vineyard together, ensconced in quiet domesticity?

Hey, it worked for Mulder and Scully! I mean, there was that baby, but that was an immaculate conception anyway... wasn't it...?

Sorry, got distracted. Back to P/C.

As I've said before, I think that eventually it will be time for Beverly's career to be the priority. I don't think they'd get together until they both left the Enterprise. Bev will become head of Starfleet Medical; Jean-Luc will retire and move back to the vineyard and fill his time with archaeology and music. Public transport has moved on considerably since the 21st century; she can live in France and work in San Francisco, or maybe stay in SF a couple of nights a week, giving both of them just a little bit of space. I think it would work. Jean-Luc has to slow down eventually, and they both have to shift gears in their careers. It could make a lot of things possible to them that weren't so when they were on the Enterprise.

A perfect date...hmmm...maybe in the holodeck: 1940s atmosphere, a burning candle, two glasses of red wine on a wooden table. However, I think their relationship evolved into a true friendship, or as you said, Admiral Valeris, "more than friendship". Moreover, I don't see them settling down, because P is a true captain and C can't wait for him on a planet.

Does that mean that Picard will have to be forced out of command? I mean, he's been a Captain for a helluva long time, and most people his age in Starfleet would presumably be at least Rear-Vice Admirals.

Sounds like a fanfic idea. ;)

so could the dominion beat the borg? i think so, since they will eventually figure out that you can kill the borg with tommy guns!!! how about throwing rocks or maybe shooting arrows at their faces?? the borg are a joke...

kakashi76767 , unless you want a warning for spamming, don't post crap like this in a thread where the thread subject matter is obviously something else.

^We have an actual topic? Since when?

---

So, I was just assigned someone new to work with this weekend (and every weekend until my notice runs out in two months). She just relocated from Texas and, when I mentioned Captain Janeway's "Do it," she knew exactly what I meant...but she said her favorite was always Captain Picard. I'm going to loan her my DVD of NEM so she can see the deleted P/C scenes, once her SO gets their DVD player up here. It's not exactly exciting news, nor do I think it'll come up much, but it was still interesting that I'll get to share some P/C with someone at work.

Oh, and like the last person they assigned to work with me who didn't work out, she's a liberal! (I'm surrounded by the right wing during the week.)

^I'm only left of center, but I feel like a socialist around some of them. I'll miss them anyway, though, quite deeply infact. They are to me like the Enterprise crew was to each other. Of course, I also did a Beverly Crusher. I worked there for a year, left, came back, stayed for several years, and am now moving away. There's no Jean-Luc to complicate things for me, though.

[/despirately trying to stay somewhere near the topic]

Speaking of complications to departures...

WHY DID THEY CUT THE "I'LL SAVE THE LAST DANCE..." SCENE FROM NEM!?!?!

I know, time, not confusing the movie audience if they hadn't seen the show, etc, etc...

It still rankles me.

Dammit, couldn't the P/Cers be given a FRICKIN BONE HERE?! Is it really that hard to ask?

The "Jean-Luc as an action hero!" group got tons of little tidbits! The Riker/Troi people FINALLY got what they wanted.
Hell, the people who watched Voyager and knew who Janeway was got something.

:scream:

Why can't there be more P/C? Maybe not HOT P/C SEX IN THE READY ROOM or [/b]HOT SLIGHTLY GERIATRIC SEX[/b], but something

We did. And that was a nice ending. But it killed the fanfic pretty much and the speculation which I always enjoyed. Still, it would have been nice for the P/Cers to get something, too.

There were some moments where it seemed like they were trying to give the P/Cers something, but then it was of questionable canonicity or just fell flat. Even the "Save the last dance" scene is bittersweet, since the two of them are apart still.

I'm pretty sure that group is just Patrick Stewart actually.

Gawd knows I'm a diehard Picard fan but I don't want to see him in fight scenes. He used to be way too cool.

He has people for that sort of thing.
