Over and over and over

Whacko admirals or retired whacko admirals??

Rob

In addition to whacko Admirals, Renegade Captains. Just off the top of my head there was Captain Tracey in TOS, Captain Maxwell in TNG, Captain Ransom in Voyager. Can't think of any for DS9 or Enterprise.

Hell, for that matter, let's look at the Evil Admirals. The closest you get in TOS was Cartwright in the movies. TNG had quite a few, Admiral Jameson, Admiral Kennelly, Admiral Doughtery in Insurrection. DS9 had Admiral Leyton. Voyager avoided this cliche unless you count Janeway in Endgame. Also, can't think of any Evil Admirals in Enterprise.

Nor on Enterprise

Did DS9 have holodeck adventures that went wrong at all? I know they had holosuites, but I don't remember them malfunctioning.
Our Man Bashir springs to mind. Also (in a way) Badda-Bing Badda-Bang.

Actually, I wouldn't count Badda-Bing Badda-Bang as a malfunction since what happened there was a normal part of the programming.
I wasn't sure myself. Hence the "in a way" addition. ;)

Crew has their bodies taken over by living cloud energy thingies..

I can think of an episode from each of TOS-TNG and DS9 where that happened. Did Enterprise/Voy have episodes where crew members had their bodies taken over by either living clouds or plasma energy things...

And remember, the energy beings have to have 'talked' through the body they inhabit...
Yes.
Enterprise: Crossover and Observer Effect.
Voyager: Would Body and Soul count? The Doctor (technically an energy being) is stored in Seven's borg implant and takes over her body.
Warlord, maybe? The guy's consciousness takes over Kes.

I think there were others, but I don't recall which episodes.

Defeating the plans of gods... except Ent.. damn, I thought I had one.
Actually, I think the Expanse Guardians were viewed as gods (Chosen Realm fanatics, and the Xindi).
Holodeck Programs Gone Wrong™.

Sorry, no 'Holodeck' on TOS.

Nor on Enterprise.
These Are the Voyages. If ever there was a holodeck program that went awry, it's that one.

Yeah..I get your meaning..in fact have they ever done a time travel episode where the reset button WASN'T set?
I'd say DS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations" would fit into that category - as would "Past Tense." Situations were restored, but not reset. Voyager's "Future's End" would probably also qualify for resolution rather than reset.

Y'all are missing the obvious one-Every single ST series has got it in for some guy named Will. They all say "Fire at Will!" at one point or another.
 Whenever that comes up in dialog, my mind always finishes, "Why? What did he do?"

I don't know Enterprise, but DS9 had Cal Hudson (though I think he was a commander, not a captain).

not sure if this counts but what about the cargo ship captain who attacked the nausicans? in ent as for ds 9 maybe admiral leyton?

Scorpio
The reset button is an integral part of certain types of Time travel stories. Other wise Earth is ruled by Nazis or the E-D is a war ship and Tasha is alive!!!! (Not sure which is worse ;) ) Though I don't recall a reset button in "Assignment: Earth".

That's bcause - as Spock pointed out - the actions of the 1701 crew were part of the natural flow of what was supposed to happen since they didn't research the altitude of the weapon platform explosion until AFTER everything went down.

Someone asked about time travel stories not being reset...The EMH Doctor managed to keep ahold of the Holo-emitter that the criminal from the future had in "Future's End." Or was it "Time's End?" Also, First Contact wasn't reset as the wreckage from the sphere went on to create some trouble for scientists and the NX team in Enterprise.

I think the closest you get are 'Our Man Bashir', and to a lesser extent 'Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang' (although in the latter case there was no actual threat).

Crazy loss of inhabitions episodes:
TOS: Naked Time; Amok Time
TNG: Naked Now
DS9: Fascination
VOY:ENT: Whatever Pon Farr episodes they did.

For that matter, couple the Pon Farr stories with "Sarek", "Field of Fire", and that zombie Vulcan episode from Enterprise-- We've got 5 series worth of Vulcans losing their logical marbles.

One more:
Has Enterprise done a Q/Trelane style omnipotent troublemaker?
