Outcasts (BBC) series 1 discussion thread

100 members now! Which I was excited about until I saw the Save SGU group had 17,000 members ;)

That said the BBC turned the volume down on Bryan Cox's show because 118 people complained!!

They turned the music down relative to him talking. The last episode was so free of content, that they might as well have done the reverse.

I'm amazed how quick those numbers changed though, there was like 9 before the last episode it seemed.

:scream::confused: I didn't know this show existed at all. I just happened to run across it by accident and downloaded it off the internet for the first time a few days ago and I love it. I was waiting for more and now am very upset that there isn't gooing to b more. Think about it bbc how many shows were going to be canceled and were saved at the last minute like southland etc. This show is awesome and given the proper due dilligence and time I am sure this would be an excellent and long running series. Change the day if you need, air it in America etc. I love it please give it one more chance. I am sorry I started watching another great show and only to discover BBC is as bad as ABC and the rest of these greedy networks whom are clueless about the public's desires for good TV

The show has been on BBC America for awhile it seems and I somehow missed it. I can see all the episodes if I want to...I've only seen the first episode so far...and I liked it a LOT! I hope the rest of the series doesnt completely cut the colony off from other colonists and spacecraft, that might make it seem too closed in.

Why does everyone keep saying SF on TV is dead? Not only is at all over the place, I can't even keep track of it all! What a nice surprise to find this series. :-)

Because this series is dead. canceled. kaput.

Yes indeed...my point is more along the lines that there are a steady stream of sf shows out there...and there seems no change to this. I'm happy it got a run of 8 episodes though...it was well made.

I think people see no space opera and think there's no sci-fi, obviously that's erroneous.

I think what I would have liked Outcasts to be was Deadwood with a Sci-Fi setting.

I would buy that for a dollar! :bolian::bolian::bolian: Some really riveting characters like Deadwood had, would have kept me watching. They were all so, I dunno...expected. Julius needed to be the guy who came along and saved the show instead of being so...expected.
