Other ships in Star Trek...

In some respects Klaatu's ship as it appeared onscreen in 1951 is pretty much in keeping with the TOS aesthetic. Its clean and straightforward design alligns nicely with TOS' minimalist approach to design. Indeed, just like in the film, the simplicity of the design adds to the ship's sense of mystery and magical sophistication.

The Leif Ericcson Galactic Cruiser would have been a good match.. designed by Matt Jefferies himself!!

Forgetting ENT could something like this have been in TOS' past?

I'll gladly forget about ENT but what of the early Federation ships pictured in the books? You know the sphere and the tube with two nacelles! They looked great to me!

just waiting until I can get some time to build em out..

One has to shift the Forbidden Planet timeline by a century and a half at least to make it fully compatible with the Trek one. Regardless, NCC-57D there could well be an early Federation vessel from the 22nd century, still without them newfangled transporters or long range subspace transceiver sets.

Possibly not a Starfleet vessel but a civilian police cruiser? This would explain the uniforms without the arrowheads, and the fact they serve the United (Federation of) Planets rather than its specific Starfleet. Their humble ship is tasked with a simple "delayed SAR" errand, something Starfleet generally spits upon ("The Cage"). And they fumble that big time, mistaking Altair IV for a goner just because there's a big flash.

A few decades later, surplus ships of that now outdated type are of course sold to foreign interests, including certain felinoids... NCC-57D remains in service till the 2370s, though.

This is from the movie AARU Dr. Who and the Dalek Invasion of Earth- the Dalek saucer. It heavily reminds me of the Kzinti ship from the animated episode, "The Slaver Weapon".

Were you thinking of keeping it to the same scale as the original C57D or rescaling it to be a larger vessel?
