Other composers for Star Trek movies

What other film composers would you have considered for the Star Trek movies? The movies that exist, the ones that never got made (like Star Trek: The First Adventure) or possible upcoming film productions.

John Williams could've done a Trek movie for sure, given that the whole tone of their scores is kind of riding on his coattails a bit

A Danny Elfman one back in the day might've been interesting. As for today? I'd be interested to see Ramin Djawadi take a shot at it.

I immediately thought of Bear McCreary and Clint Mansell for a modern version of something like Star Trek VI. Steven Price would be great for a deep space Trek film. I never thought about this before but has anyone ever wondered what James Horner would have done with Star Trek IV if they could have got him? And Daft Punk, just doing something like their Tron Legacy soundtrack, which married with TMP is awesome.

I never thought about this before but has anyone ever wondered what James Horner would have done with Star Trek IV if they could have got him?

I wondered about that as well. I think TVH would have felt a bit more epic.

After listening to the BSG soundtrack, I would love to see McCreary do a Trek film. Also, someone who hasn't been mentioned yet but maybe it's not the right genre, but Danny Elfman.
