Interesting - it kind of looks like a Abrams AU-style NX-01. It's the way the front of the engineering hull/neck and the saucer rim are styled.
Interesting how you mention it somewhat looks Abramsverse.

I really like that design.
This would have been a very interesting design to have seen on the show if they had gone with it instead of the Akiraprise but its grown on me. I honestly think we should have had a secondary hulled ship through.
I could have learned to love NX-01 if NX-01.5 had ever happened.
I think the lack of a secondary hull just tears it for me. That and the fact that I never really warmed up to the series.
And I tried. I loved the idea behind the theme song, but they soured it by not taking the musical concept past the opening titles. Captain Sam Beckett seemed like a good idea, but I never felt he found his footing with who he was. He felt too much like Kirk in a jump suit, sans the self confidence.
This ship is nice. I could see it working for the part after refinement. Were it up to me, though, I wouldn't have done anything like it. I'd have wanted to emphasize the primitive side of things. NX-01 looks too modern, inside and out, compared 1701, something that really stands out in their Mirror Universe Episodes.
Still, as a realization of the sketch at the top of the thread, I do like these renderings. This feels like a ship that might have been built between 1701 and the refit.

Well, for what it's worth, Doug Drexler did plan to add a secondary hull if they managed to get a fifth season.
I know. I've seen the NX-01.5 proofs for SotL. Nice ship. I don't hate NX-01. She just seems wrong for the time. I just figured I'd forgive that wrongness if NX-01.5 had happened.

The only problem I have with that ship is the registry number is too damn high.
I think the Conestoga would have been an excellent model to use for the NX.
