Oreos are evil!

They are a gateway drug to sugary foods masquerading as innocent little cookies!

You buy Oreos and try to be good, having only two a day with a glass of milk, and then what happens? You have a bite of cookie, then some of the cream, then some of the cookie WITH cream, and then it's gone and you want another! And then another and another!

I've been "good," limiting myself to four (FOUR! Not two!) a day, but they just sit there in the pantry. Waiting. And every time I need something from the pantry, I see them. I guess the only way to stop the madness is to not buy them.

Anybody else have evil food?

Whenever I have Oreos in the house, I do not eat any fewer than 8 at a time, and I have been that way since junior high.

But no, I don't have any evil food. I don't buy unhealthy stuff anymore.

Ice cream and Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies are both evil. Especially mint chocolate chip ice cream, cookies and cream ice cream, and mint Milanos.

There are these "cake" cookies that Jewel carries most of the time. The icing is colored to the current holiday most of the time.

They're gone in a couple days if I can't resist buying some.

I finished the mint chocolate chip ice cream off tonight; now all that is left is Dutch Chocolate ice cream.

Personally I don't care for Oreo's. It's not that I don't like them, I just prefer many of the other biscuits that are available on the market.

I've never had much of a sweet tooth, so pigging out isn't a problem for me. I'm more likely to forget that I have cookies in the house.

Personally I try to avoid sugary stuff--stopped drinking soda(diet or otherwise)--only drink water, no donuts, no cakes, no pies, no candy bars, no juice drinks, no cookies--the only ones I will indulge in occasionally as a splurge are Fat Free Fig Newtons and I've found this new brand called Skinny Cow[TM] ice cream sandwiches that are much lower in sugar and fat--they have several different flavors but my favorites is mint ice cream with chocolate dough sandwiching it.

So if I have a sweet craving I'll usually eat Chobani Greek Yogurt, grapes or plums. And yeah I think the only way not to be tempted is to not buy them and have them in your house tempting you. And that doesn't just go for sweet stuff I've banned red meat, anything other than olive oil, banned bread, no fast food, no white rice or pasta, no canned fruit with syrup, no potatoes other than once in a while sweet potatoes which are high in beta carotene and good for your skin, no frozen food meals, no frozen nuggets or fish sticks, no alcohol beverages, no smoking in my house.

I haven't touched an Oreo in months because I used to have a similar problem with them. Unfortunately, I've got a huge sweet tooth, which makes giving up stuff like that incredibly annoying. :ouch:

I can't buy Oreos. If I open the bag, that fucker's getting cleaned until I feel like puking. So, two day, tops and the bag is empty. No Oreos enter this house.

But chips? That's another story.I must have them. Bags of chips enter the house every week or two and get eaten promptly, especially if salsa is involved.

Oreos... mmm... I really fell hard for the golden Oreos. I am pretty sure I ate way too many in a sitting, and had to finally say one shopping trip, "let's not get them this week." We stopped buying the more sugary treats as I need to watch my sugar intake (dentist warning for my teeth health, boo!).

But yes, there was no way to not eat two to four at a time, and the box would mock me whenever I felt snacky and opened the cubbard.

One thing I like is Dryer's cookie and cream ice-cream that is low calorie. After cutting soda from my diet too, I find that I don't want as much other sugary food, so less urges to eat yummy Dryer's each night.

I had a crazy night. I did a whole line of Oreos. I had some milk too, it was only 2%. I'm not crazy.

A coworker brought some orange and mango flavored Oreos back from China. I won't be traveling over there for more.

Oreos are a double whammy. I think that white filling in the original Oreo is basicaly a blend of sugar and hydrogenated vegetable oil. Of course they had to compound the sin with "Double Stuff".

While I love the stuff the "cream" part of ice cream's name should be a clue.

I've noticed many brands of that yellow substance many people apply to their morning toast/rolls/biscuits is now labeled "spread" instead of "margarine" or "oleomargarine". I suspect some official definition/standard is no longer being met.

I was raised with a strict rule of no more than one cookie a day. So while I could eat an entire bar of chocolate, eating too many Oreos in one sitting doesn't seem like a danger.

I too wonder if there's a secret addictive in Oreos...

My own personal kryptonite is (French) cheese. Melted cheese. Melted cheese on Ritz crackers...

With Oreos the first two taste pretty good. The next one is a little less flavorful but gets by on the memory of how good the first two were. Every Oreo after that tastes like dirt and high pitched sugar.

This.

Except for me the change of taste happens while eating the first one.
