Opinion: the show has improved since Berg and Harberts left

I for one don't enjoy having to scroll down through dozens of hater posts or post dedicated to how Disco needs to be a different show, or post by people who want to make the forums about a completely different show they think the forums should be talking about, just to find the odd worthwhile one that's actually about the ep. or Discovery itself and not someones idea of what it should be. If that's what I wanted, there are plenty of other sites on the net that those people get to shine in all their, um... glory?
Its the same with anything on the internet, just ignore them if you dont agree.

Its not hard.

There is the 'ignore' function. I've only used it a couple of times, but not because I have to read someone's opinions of an entertainment property.

Yeah I have never needed to use it myself, mind you I am not as active on this board as some are.

I just think its hilarious how some complain that they do not want to have to scroll through it while at the same time adding to it themselves and making it worse by responding, forcing others to have to scroll even more, its almost like the board is a territory that must be defended.

I guess that is the internet in a nutshell these days.

These days? On bulletin boards, it was like this even in 1996, when I first came online. And definitely before that.

I pick and choose what I want to respond to. Sometimes, there's been something where I thought to myself, "Should I respond to this?" then I decided "Nah."
It seems worse now than back then or perhaps it's because I was just a squid myself.

That's the same approach I use for the most part.

Like attracts Like. That's how communities are built. Some communities are dominated by those who love tearing a particular thing down, some dominated by those who prefer figuring out how that something works. I don't find a lot of appreciation in tearing down forums for those who present answers those communities don't want to hear or discuss.

This one viewer of the show thinks this season has more positive episodes than last year. Whether its due to Berg & Harberts leaving, I havent a clue.
I have however been enjoying this thread, because of the varied discussions of alternate time lines, and the mixed feelings about certain episodes.
I came here last year to be able to discuss this show. So far I have found the scales are tipped in here, just look at the 9's and 10's on every episode of both seasons.
Please dont close this thread.

I have secret insider information that Season 3 will involve the antics of Spock and Burnham's hitherto unmentioned hillbilly Cousin Klee T'us, from the mountainous regions of Vulcan and his attempts to "soup up" an old Daedalus Class as part of his Project Daedalus ship into a bony-fide smuggling ship. Sarek must unite his family to stop him..
Nah, it will be about Spock's cousin Stephen who works in the circus.

You've now made multiple posts about the supposed haters and trolls (none of whom are posting in this thread that I've seen) that had nothing to do with discussing the show, and that people will have to scroll past to get to actual constructive discussion.

Being critical of the show does not automatically make one a hater or a troll. Are there people who go over the top with their behavior and constantly make one-note annoying posts just to piss fans off? Sure. Just as there are people who are overly sensitive and can't seem to handle any criticism of the show and go out of their way to shoot it down and silence it, even when it's by someone making a reasonable point.

Both examples are equally irritating. But it's not your job to police it. You can ignore it or notify on it.

Sounds compelling enough....

About 30 times per day.

I was hoping to see Spocko

Pine was quite good at mimicking all the Kirk cliches that have grown over the years. Had the new movies been parodies of TOS, he still would have worked as Kirk.

Not Parodies of TOS, more parodies of Galaxy Quest (the 1st one) and then TWOK (The final 2).

After "The Red Angel", I'm not so sure. That episode really left a bad taste in my mouth after thinking it over.
If "The Naked Now" and "Code of Honor" didn't kill TNG in 1987 - there's no way "The Red Angel" (which is nowhere near as bad as either of those) will have a lasting effect on ST: D. ;)
