Opinion of The Cloud Minders?

It would have been interesting to see what Manny Coto would have done with Stratos in his planned return to this episode in Enterprise.

Nothing substantial, I guess. Mind you, I'm a fan of Enterprise (especially the third season), but considering what was done with TOS references in the fourth season of that show, I wouldn't be surprised at all if an Enterprise episode revisiting Stratos would answer such "substantial" questions as "How did they build a city in the sky?" or "How will Archer free himself from Ardanan captivity?". I mean, who cares?
 
I enjoyed the episode, and thought it was meaningful. I've never understood Gerrold's criticism over the rewrites...the underclass still has their promise of fair treatment, their apparent lack of intelligence proven to be from outside sources...and the city dwellers will be forced to acknowledge their equality..though as the ending proves, it'll be hard to get past the bias at first.

Definately one of my least favourite ST episodes. To be fair, i've only seen it once, due to my immediate dislike of it, but Spocks behaviour is just appauling. I mean...what the hell. For gods sake Spock...keep it in your flared pants!
 
Overall, I really like this episode. It had some great lines.

"Extreme beauty is always a disturbance." -Spock

"Nor I a work of art, madam." -Spock

Oh what can I say? I'm a sucker for Vulcan pick up lines. I actually had a guy use it on me once. No joke. And I said yes! XD



I also love Kirk's "I insist!"

What's-her-name -- uh, Diana Ewing -- had a very nice body. As I said upthread, there's a difference between lean and anorexic. Take Keira Knightley, for example. She's naturally thin, but she doesn't look unhealthy.
 
Sir Mix-a-Lot and I have never seen eye to eye on the issue of butts, although I respect his eloquence.
