Liked the music, but as for the titles, it's the lightning that really spoils it for me, it looks cheap and tacky. JMHO. Sorry.

I prefer almost any of the earlier musical interpretations. The driving "DA DA DA DA" (Sound of Drums?) beat is almost lost.
Your comments, especially, the "Sound of Drums?" remark makes me wonder exactly how much Dr. Who you've watched.

The rhythmic underpinning is clearly present in this arrangement. However, the underpinning has alternated over the years between, "Da Da Da Duh," "Da-dah da duh," and "Nah-nunna nah nah. This particular arrangement sets the underpinning as "Nah-nunna nah nah." Perhaps you would revisit some of the so called "Classic Who" episodes and listen to their themes, drawing on the full 40+ years of music to broaden your understanding.

I liked it. "Nah-nunna nah nah" underneath an original and sinister fanfare that morphs into the classic melody. And like Jim Steele said, I'm glad they had the balls to do something different.

I like how the "DW" icon spins around and becomes the actual TARDIS, which then continues bouncing its way through the vortex. That's cool.

Overall I haven't quite warmed to the whole package yet. All the ingredients seem to be there -- cool visuals, interesting new arrangement -- but it's not gelling for me yet. Of course, I've only watched the opening a few times, and then only on my iPod, so maybe I'll gain better appreciation once I see it on an actual television. The 17th can't get here soon enough! :D

^^Oh sorry bud, that region thing is a bit of a bummer.....but yeah its the full 1 min version.

It's on youtube now with the middle 8 added

I'm really beginning to like everything about this theme. Still like the visuals more with the lightning even though is it Karen Gillian or Gilliam (With the M instead of the N). That looked a bit cluttered but other than that, nice update, especially with the middle part in the Youtube clip.

Now that's actually quite good, it keeps the deep base throughout the whole song......nice find.

I'm looking forward to all the different takes on the new theme that will be popping up on YT.

Oooooh, nice one. :techman:

Although, as weve said before in this thread, it sounds better in isolation rahter than haveing your eyes and ears distracted by the visuals.

but the them and the visuals make it waht it is, especially when the lightnening bolts a re in synch with the music in some places.:)

I like that - I think the "middle eight" is always my favorite part of the theme; it never seems complete without it, anyway.
There is something innately heroic (in the classical "eroica" sense)about it that distinguishes from the rest of the theme, whether the rest takes an upbeat track or not.
