Opening Teaser and Part of Act I of "Enemy:Starfleet" Released

Just took a look at one of the teaser posters for this episode.

What exactly is that battlewagon with the registry of NCC-1719? And do we get a better look at her?

I guess I need to apologize for my earlier comments on folks' hair. I hadn't seen anything new from Phase II for about 18 months, so I forgot what several people looked like until I began watching Blood and Fire for my review this Friday at SciFiPulse.net. It looks like the captain and his nephew both had longer locks than I remembered, so they're consistent in "Enemy Starfleet." And I don't remember pointing that out when Part 1 of BAF was released, so I'll just wait in the corner for the rest of ES.

And I thought my comments were lightly humorous, too. Sigh.

Ah, nice to finally have images to add the text - I helped to translate parts of the script for the German subtitled version. :)

Captain Randy: WE probably owe you an apology regarding your hair remarks. Unfortunately, you hit a sore spot... as no matter how hard we work to produce these episodes there are ALWAYS complaints about the hair and accusations folks are wearing hair pieces. Which inspires in us... "oh, come on.. with all that you have to complain about the hair?!?" The truth is Peter's hair IS even longer in ES than it was in BAF, but Kirk's is shorter. Running around that "planet" everyone's hair was flying everywhere - no matter how much hairspray I unloaded into it. (The only people that didn't have this problem were the ones wearing wigs... Spock and McCoy!) Peter's hair gets steadily shorter - and lighter - in following episodes, for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is that humans don't tend to have one hair style for their entire life.

The ship in the poster is the "USS Eagle", which was stolen and modified. And yes, you'll get to see some glorious scenes of her in action.

Because "Kyril" (Paul Sieber) took such a great fall and lived, he was, in fact, transformed into a human, shaved, clipped, put in a red shirt, and transferred to the Enterprise.... where, hopefully, he'll continue to live...

It's a little hard to see in the poster, but our graphic artist, Jeff Hayes, designed a patch/insignia for the U.S.S. Eagle. On the poster, you can see it in the background behind the Eagle. It has a vaguely Germanic, angular eagle shape. You can make out the wings and tailfeather shape toward the bottom of the symbol.

Follow focus and lense. The HVX200 and EX1 do great at keeping "better" focus without lenses, but "better" isnt always what is wanted for a scene. Usually, we dont shoot with a bare lense. If Alex or Matt or Chris are around, maybe they can go into more detail, or you could post the question on our forums, where I know they at least check the "Technical" threads pretty often.

Best,
Rob

Believe me, there's no need to apologize regarding my hair comments. I understand just how much effort goes into P2 productions, and I know some criticisms must seem superficial. I hadn't seen new P2 in 18 months, and the second thing to go when you become a grup is the memory. (I can't remember what the first thing is.) :rommie:

After the great FX in the new segment, I can't wait to see the Eagle versus the Enterprise. I just love space battles! :vulcan:

And as for Sieber, those crazy transporter malfunctions can just about change anyone into anything! Wow! :bolian:

Peter Kirk looks like he escaped from a japanese manga. And I am not so sure about the new Spock either.

FX looks great though ...

Great work. I really like the fast pace, especially compared to BAF Part 2 (which, frankly, I thought could've been edited a bit tighter.)

I can't wait to see the rest of Enemy: Starfleet!

Regarding the opening titles: I think you could drop the "beam-out" of the old series name and "beam in" of the new one, and just call it Phase II and be done with it.

And I'll confess I am a tiny bit disappointed you decided against doing the Phase II upgrades to the Enterprise. I was really looking forward to seeing the ship we never got to see (beyond some photos of the uncompleted SFX model in Starlog over 30 years ago.) Ah well, I'll get over it :)
