Opening Credits?

opening theme music should be jono making the b'nar from "suddenly human":

I will always maintain that Jono was the only person who came aboard the Enterprise-D who had excellent taste in music. The "contemporary Talarian music" he listens to is great. I'll never understand why Jean-Luc got all upset about it. It's not "noise", Jean-Luc. It's MUSIC. :shifty:

It's been a looong rooaad....

No seriously, a really really long road,
I mean this guy is nearly a hundred,
I'm sayin he's really old guyssssss,
It's really beeen basically the looooongest road,
Like if a long roooaaddd was an inch,
Or I mean, like 2.54 cm, because its the future,
And a loong rooad was a couple cm,
Then this road would be like four km,
Because its a metaphor for aging,
You see, because he's soooo oooooldd...

Ok, listen, you remember that episode about the Naussicans?
I mean the one with Wesley in the shuttle?
My point is he has an artificial heart, alright,
But he has faith of his artificial heart,
Going where the winds will take him,
Yeahhhhh...PICARDDDD!!!!!

Opening titles are so passé. Just give us a title card, three chords of music and get right back into the thick of things.

99% of us hit skip intro after the first episode anyway.

Disco S1 end credits were better than the main theme
"main title (extended)" from the first discovery season one album is a really knockout piece, it doesn't have the sudden, loud star trek fanfare at the end like in the aired opening titles that i personally find totally annoying.

If you like the opening titles music as a way of setting your mood for the hour...well, I do wish that Agents of SHIELD had done it the traditional way. We can discuss that show's approach elsewhere on TrekBBS, though.

Berlioz, Les Troyens, from 3:22 onwards. It's the song Picard played at MAX VOLUME in his quarters at the start of First Contact while trying not to think about the Borg

No Riker, it's not Bizet.

If it is, I'm all in for it. I hope the title sequence leaks early like it did with Discovery shortly before season one aired.

Title sequences are an art unto itself. That's something that seems to start becoming an almost lost art these days.

AMERICAN GODS, AMERICAN HORROR STORY, GAME OF THRONES, WESTWORLD... those are some examples of great sequences. Plus, it helps to set the mood and, in some cases like GAME OF THRONES, really tell a huge story all by itself by showing us how large that world is.

I get why network tv shows do less and less with them, but for a streaming show, we deserve a good intro.
