Your countdown factoids are cool! Tick tock....
The earliest concepts for the animated Trek involved the crew all having young teenage cadet apprentices. There's even some concept art in The Art of Star Trek. They were all Mini Me versions of the crew. I suspect it would have been awful!
Here's another concept pic: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5161/5302476241_e391d5fb13.jpg

Feeling the envy! I shall have to avoid this place like the plague in the interim between the Brit and American premieres. I have zero will power and will spoil myself to bits.
<Nods head vigorously in agreement>
In case any other Irish people are wondering, we get it early too.

Australia and Germany join that group of countries to get it early also. Linky. So Australia would be most likely the first country where it will open.

Eh, why are you worried about Australia? Everyone knows it's a made up Country, all you need to do is look at the wild life they claim to have there to see the truth.
Now New Zealand, we know that's a real Country, because that's where Middle Earth is
The rubber-suited Gorn looks more realistic than their made-up "kangeroos." We're not falling for that cheap trick!
