One more Mission...

Even though the mission was a success, did Admiral Ross make a mistake in not letting Sisko command the Defient on the mission to destroy the Dominion sensor array in the Argolis Cluster (Favor the Bold) If it was as important as Ross stated, he should have let Sisko do this one last mission before taking him on as his assisstant, any thoughts??

Who was in charge? Wasn't it Dax? If so, she's known Sisko, and what he would do for years, would've known the plan, and "is" over 300 years old... so that fine with me. Putting dear knows who, well that'd be another story.

I don't think that the result would have been much different. Dax had years of experience to fall back on and was, in many respects, just as capable as Sisko with commanding Defiant.

You also have another risk though with Sisko. He had already started the job I believe which meant he was an even bigger liability if captured.

Points well taken, the scene of Sisko watching the Defient leave on the mission, you could almost feel his pain and frustration on not being on board the Defient. Also, Benjamine does not strike me as a desk jocky, he is a combat tested field officer, I think that Admiral Ross could have found someone else to be his assistant, what about you ???
