One man's theory on why Shatner is going to be in Star trek

Re: One man's theory on why Shatner is going to be in Star t

I think they should make another movie as well, called Star Trek : Final Destination.

Spock plants the info, Kirk does not die on Veridian III but Death becomes seriously pissed.

So Death travels backwards, forward, up and down in time and through universes killing Kirks of all ages in various bloodfilled ways.

And this way we can attract all the so called torture porn fans and make more new Trek fans.

I am really surprised that so many people around here seem to not have heard of the Temporal Prime Directive.

Please- like anyone cared to abide by the temporal prime directive. Or any rules for that matter.

If Carl Spock warned young Kirk about the Nexus, Veridian, or whatever, by definition he'd also be revealing to Kirk that he lives at least to that moment. Another 35-40 years or so. So, for all that time he has nothing to fear. Essentially, all risks are worth taking up to meeting Soran. Something about it doesn't seem right. It's kind of a cheat.

This is an excellent point. Kirk could very well end up dieing decades earlier than he was supposed to because of a subconscious feeling of invulnerability from knowing his fate. He could die during the 5 year mission.

Well, maybe Janeway didn't care about the TPD (and I doubt Kirk or Sisko would give a damn either if a real and SERIOUS need arose)...but Picard certainly would.

They don't MAKE 'em any more 'by the book' than Picard. ;)

And if Picard were involved at all, I can't see them going back for a 'do over' so as to avoid Kirk's death in Generations.

Yeah Kirk never cheated, he was a boy scout.. Wait he did the biggest cheat of them all at Starfleet Academy the Kobayashi Maru. Not only did he cheat he was proud of it.

And who's going to enforce it? If they give you any trouble over it, you just go back in time and nip it in the bud. :)
