So Prime Spock comes from 129 years in the future. That means for him Kirk was dead for 104 years (marking his death at his disappearance into the Nexus.) It must have been quite an amazing thing for him to actually be with his old friend again on Delta Vega. The time frame does raise a question for me. Spock is surprised that Kirk is not the captain of the Enterprise at the age of 25.. at what age did Kirk become captain in the original timeline? I assumed it was a bit older due to him wasting his father-less life for a few years at least. Was the Enterprise sent on its maiden voyage in the same year in both timelines I wonder?
If Spock were human I would suggest he was just a bit muddled as to when things happened but I think that unlikely. Posters have suggested that Kirk was made captain early because of the destruction of so many starships at Vulcan as well as possibly whatever was going on in the Laurentian system.. but Spock himself indicates that Kirk would have been captain of the Enterprise at a younger age.
Here's the dates:
2233 James T. Kirk born both timelines
2293 James T. Kirk disappears into the Nexus in the Prime timeline
2258 Nu James T. Kirk meets Prime Spock on Delta Vega
Thoughts?
