I thought Regina lost her powers when they went to New York.
EDIT: The news that OUAT will be featuring an LGBT relationship this season has been making the rounds. They did also announce that Mulan, who was know was in love with Aurora will be returning, but they won't say if she is part of the relationship. If she is, I'm assuming it'll be with a different woman, since Aurora seemed pretty happy with Phillip last time we saw her, and we never got any indication she shared Mulan's feelings.
I did just remember something, they said Henry will be getting a love interest this season. What if it's him? I don't remember ever getting any indication of him having romantic feelings for guys or girls, so it seems that it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility.

It seems pretty much a given (to me, anyway) that Mulan's going to be one of the characters involved in this same-sex relationship, but it's anybody's guess as to who her partner will be.

Re: Henry, I doubt they'd go that direction because of the character's age, and even if they did, most kids know what their sexuality is long before they become teenagers, and there's usually at least SOME indication of that in their behavior, meaning it would be tricky for them to pull off a 'retcon' indicating that he's non-heterosexual.

There is one thing we can unequivocally say about this forthcoming relationship, though: it won't be "Swan Queen" (in spite of some fans' insistence to the contrary).

Yeah, there's already enough complication there without throwing that in there. Yeah, at this point the only preexisting character that would make sense is Mulan.
Even if it isn't a guy, I still have to wonder if they are going to bring in for Henry's love interest. I'm wonder if she'll be a character from the Fairy Tale World, or an original character? I'm trying to think of any Disney characters who were teen girls that haven't been introduced as adults, but can't come up with any right now.

Hearing that Ruby is coming back along with Mulan makes me almost want to start watching again. But then, I couldn't finish the Queens of Darkness arc, and the terrible way they've dealt with Robin Hood and Marian makes me extremely wary of how they'll horribly screw with the Arthur characters. Hmm....

JD, I think Henry's crush is more likely from "Camelot" rather than "Fairy Tale world".

I'm in the process of watching, Heart of Gold, the episode where they reveal Marian is really Zelena, and they did explain how she was able to use magic. You can't make magic in our world, but enchanted items still work. She had an enchanted neckless from Oz that allowed her to change back and forth from Marian.

Merida was amazing. Now that's what I call a redhead.

I mostly liked the episode up until the end. Making the dagger a part of Excalibur was a clever twist. Regina tricking the Wicked Witch was a nice development. Relocating Granny's restaurant to the Enchanted Forest was excellent. I was looking forward to a season of adventures in the Enchanted Forest with Granny's as the home base. But then we got another amnesia and missing time plot. So they'll be dealing with Dark Swan in the present, while the Camelot story unfolds in flashbacks-- I suppose that's the classic format of the show, but sometimes you can stick a bit too close to format.

Not to forget that the Dwarves show up and almost to the point of breaking the fourth wall ask to be in the show again...

And also that those six weeks when the Heroes were off partying in Camelot turned Storybrooke into a quiet and happy little town where nothing bad ever happens...
