Once Upon A Time Season 3

JD

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Season 3 of OUAT starts tonight. This is one of my favorite shows, so I'm very excited for this.
Here's the description from Wikipedia:
In search of Henry, Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, Mr. Gold, and Hook travel to Neverland, where they meet threatening mermaids. Meanwhile, Henry and another boy atempt to escape from the Lost Boys and Peter Pan. In the Enchanted Forest, a still-recovering Neal and Mulan embark on a quest to discover the fate of Henry and Emma.

This is my first time watching the show. Not sure what the deal is yet, but if I like it I may try to catch up.

Why is Pan more powerful than Rumpel? Rumpelstiltskin seems very powerful and for him to know he will die cause of Peter Pan is weird. I don't know much about Peter Pan but never thought of him as magic powerful.

^ Pan's not going to be Rumple's undoing; Henry is.

The fact that Rumple is afraid of Pan isn't meant to make him (Rumple) look weak,BTW; it's meant to make Pan look strong and scary.

Also, Adam and Eddy have said to throw everything you think you know about Peter Pan out the window because their take on the character is wholly unique.

My favorite line of the premiere was Regina's "Fillet the bitch!" It really made me laugh.

As soon as that kid showed up to help Henry I knew he was going to turn out to be Peter Pan. Still the kid once he was revealed as Pan seemed really evil. Good acting on his part.

I'm glad that they killed off Greg and Tamara in the premiere. Once they got Henry to Neverland they weren't needed any more. I loved seeing them die because they were stupid, dangerous fanatics and annoying as well. They got what they deserved for not asking questions. They died of the dumbs.

I thought it was great start to the new season.
Yeah, not going to miss Greg and Tamara.
I was pretty sure the boy who "helped" Henry worked for Pan, but I wasn't sure until the end if he was Pan.
I'm glad we're getting more with Mulan, Philip and Aurora, I liked them a lot last season. Aurora's got a very different look this season.
I thought the stuff on the boat was pretty good, and it'll definitely be interesting to see Emma & Co. actually trying to work together.
I'm very curious exactly what Pan and Rumpelstiltskin's history is.

So we finally got our answer. When Neal said to Mulan that they are all fairy tales and they even made a movie about you Mulan.

Thank you thank you.

Tamara is gone, but Greg will be back. They bothered giving him more backstory and some sympathy whereas Tamara got nothing. Also his "death" wasn't really a "death" like Tamara's was.

Though I don't think there was anything really wrong or bad about them, just that they weren't really meant to be characters (in Tamaras' case), just plot devices.

Wow, thought that was a pretty damn good first episode. I can't say I was all that excited for the new season, but somehow the writers actually made me care about the show and these characters again.

The new Neverland setting (and finally getting away from boring Storybrooke) feels like a breath of fresh air, and also feels like a much more dark and interesting place than any we've seen before. And I like the tighter focus on just these characters (who are the only ones we really care about anyway).

And jeez, that Henry actor doesn't seem to ever age, does he?

^I agree with you, I'm glad they're out of Storybrooke and as much as I like the supporting characters I'm very happy that we seem to be focusing on the best ones.

I really enjoyed the episode, I liked the theme about belief and I thought all the stories were quite strong. I love the sniping that goes on between Regina and, well, just about everyone and Hook is a riot.

I'm also looking forward to Robin Hood playing a part in the new season.

I like leaving Storybrooke, but I'm still annoyed - months later! - that two of my favorite characters (Red and Frankenstein) were left hanging after some really strong focus.

That said, really good opener. The Enchanted Forest stuff was my favorite, but the stuff in Neverland was definitely good too. I think the reason Pan can kill Rumpel so certainly is simply because they're in Neverland - his "turf" basically. Hope Robin Hood sticks around.

ETA: Are we gonna be doing a separate thread for "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" or just use this one?

I'm glad because I'm probably going to save Wonderland to watch when other shows are on break so it'll save me having to skip past loads of spoilers :techman:

I save shows for later all the time. When the next big break happens I will start watching the last season of Fringe.

Heh, speaking of "saving shows", I didn't even know about Fringe until about S3, and kept hearing it was on the bubble for cancellation, so, I didn't bother catching up and watching it live, I figured I'd wait until it was all done (And hopefully made it to a conclusion). So, it's still a Series I need to catch some day.

I was nothing live, and only few on recordings/On Demand. Arrow, I caught the first couple episodes, and was interested, but, recorded the whole Season before watching it. I prefer to marathon things in whole seasons, unless it's one of the few shows, I just gotta watch as soon as the episodes are available (Doctor Who, Walking Dead, Falling Skies, Once upon a Time, and Legend of Korra, I think are the only shows I follow week to week when they are on. Arrow, as much as I enjoyed S1 will probably be recorded and wait until S2 is over before I watch it)

Hadn't watched this show in a while, so it might not be recent, but Robert Carlisle looks pretty cool in that black coat.

Really good episode tonight. Though didn't like the flashbacks as to me they didn't really do much but be filler.
Kind of hope Pan was right and that Henry will want to just stay there and never go back.

Though wonder how much longer this show can go on though? After they deal with Peter Pan then whats next?
