Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

I remember a few months ago one of the producers saying that the Little Mermaid might show up in season 2. I haven't heard anything since though

So is Fairyland a planet in a Fairyland solar system in a Fairyland universe? Or is it just a limited tabletop continent with magical sun, moon and stars in a bubble universe? These are the things we need to know!

The Wicked Queen made a throwaway line about having to deal with a mermaid during one of the fantasyland flashbacks. I assume we'll find out what that was all about at some point.

Realistically, Fairyland is pretty much what we've seen of it. ;) It could have an "Asia" but it's more likely that "Asia" is behind another of those doors, simply because the writers need to start populating those doors, and other than Atlantis, Oz and maybe an undersea realm (for Ariel?), what the heck could they do besides Fairyland and Wonderland?

Altogether, that's still just half the doors. What else is there, Transylvania? They probably wouldn't do anything with outer space, too sci-fi-y, and Tolkein & Harry Potter are too much like tromping on other people's (and other lawyers') turf.

I won't deny that's a possibility, but it seems to me that if they're going to go through the trouble of setting up all those doors they might as well use them. And introducing more realms would give them a lot more story possibilities.

Narnia and Neverland. I'd get a kick out of them going to a world where they're in animated form, and they can use the Disney film designs.

I wonder if at any point we'll see talking animals that aren't transformed humans?

Even the poor in our world live better in than Regina did in fairyland.

So why the fuck would the middle classes here want to go back to dung shovelling and morris dancing over there?

I can't wait to see Little Mermaid. :D

I wonder what happens, then, if you go to the edge of Fairyland. Is it just a wall or does it curve back on itself like in Clarke's "Wall of Darkness?"

There could be American Indian Land, with Coyote and so forth. Norse Mythology. African. The real question is, why so few doors?

Everything I hear about the new season gets me more excited. I wonder if they will do stuff that hasn't been part of a Disney movie?
