Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

I do like how they made Rumple sympathetic at times. I was always rather puzzled at the fairy tale ending of Rumpelstiltskin dying a horrible death because frankly, he didn't DO anything bad and came off as a nice helpful guy whereas the real villains of the story (The Miller Girl's braggart father, the brutal tyrannical King) got off scott-free.
I do have to wonder if they will have Rumpel come back from the dark side eventually. He started out a good man, and basically only took on that evil to protect his son (at first).

Jack, I am your father..

For I am a Rumple like my father before me.
..

Stop Rumple, I have the high ground. You cannot win...

Weren't they siblings? :wtf: This show isn't on cable!

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.

Up Jack got, and home did trot,
As fast as he could caper,
To old Dame Dob, who patched his nob
With vinegar and brown paper.

Nothing about siblings there.

And then he blew up the Blue Fairy.
Maybe he will sacrifice himself in the end against whoever the real big bad is (proving that he is no longer the coward everyone claimed he was).

Soooo...I should use the winky face to indicate humor, huh? ;) Gotcha.

Wow, now that was a pretty surprising origin for Sydney/Mirror Man! Shows what an actor he is too, in that I never once got any feeling of Gus in this guy.

Sad how he ended up being right when he told the King that every wish he granted ended badly for the person making the wish, even when it was an act of pure kindness and mercy.

I can't believe that Emma fell for such an obvious ploy...of course Sydney was working for Regina...duh! Emma needs to get smart and not let her emotions overtake her intelligence. it's not that plausible that a yes-man like Sydney would ever break from someone like Regina. Guy's too wimpy for that.

So the mayor admits to stealing funds to build a safe play place for kids and people buy it? Definitely some magic working there.

Why did the Stranger take Henry's book? Is he trying to figure out who he used to be?

OUaT's take on Beauty and the Beast and it's got a twist...Rumpelstiltskin is the Beast?

I enjoyed last night's ep, but Emma is being a dope. She should trust no one except Snow and Henry - maybe Archie.

She is new to that town. Regina has her fingers in all the apple pies in that town. She should not be so impetuous and gullible.

I am fascinated by the stranger. Henry is a smart cookie. I loved him questioning the Stranger about why he was so interested in him.

I feel so sorry for Mirror/Glass. He is in love and being used by a horrible woman. At least he is getting his wish. He is with her always it seems.

So Regina killed her husband and used Mirror/Genie to do it. I wonder if this is all about her revenge on Snow? I suppose she killed daddy dearest to get the step daughter. I really want to know what Snow did.

I love Rumple. He is a great gray character. I cannot wait for next week.

Yeah, I want to be mayor of Storybrooke. Apparently you can just spend $50,000 on a new playground without any oversight whatsoever. No problems with zoning regulations, environmental impact statements, getting the expenditure approved by the city council. You just hand over a suitcase full of taxpayer funds to the shady guy who runs the pawnshop . . . to build a playground way out in the woods in the middle of nowhere.

Nope, nothing scandalous there!

I thought this was a pretty good episode. I do agree that the end with everyone just being with the park was a little unrealistic though. Really enjoyed Sydney/The Mirror/The Genie's backstory. I was not expecting to get a whole episodes revolving around The Queen's Mirror. And I think now we can safely say something is deffinitely up with The Stranger. I'm wondering if he is going to end up being the real Big Bad for the show.

I enjoyed last night's episode, but I feel like there is no order to the stories they are telling based in Fairy tale land. Last night's backstory with the Queen still married to Snow's father and Sydney seemed like character development that should have come earlier in the season.

...and that jungle gym the Mayor had built didn't very safe to me. Looked rather dangerous with all those pointy ends.

I'm starting to think that Snow White did nothing to the Evil Queen except exist, and that's what the Queen can't stand. It's just pure jealousy/spite, nothing more.

I definitely think it rankled the Evil Queen that Snow's father was still so doting on Snow and his former wife/Queen.

She's said that Snow White took something from her. She even said as much in front of Snow, who didn't seem puzzled or otherwise ignorant of the reference.

Why do you think the Fairytale stories should be told in order? Didn't we start the series with the last story set in Fairytale land? The stories seem to be about the character the real world episode focuses on. It lets us know who they were there and gives us insight on who they are in Storybrooke.
